I have a patch of skin between my breasts that is dark colored. I think it looks like dirt, but it absolutely isn't because I wash so often. Nothing I do makes this patch go away or get lighter. It is embarrassing, I look like I don't bathe. So I wear tops that don't show any cleavage as often as I can. Is this a disease or a rash? It doesn't feel like anything. I am hispanic, is there a skin condition that's inherited or what?

No, it most definitely is not a birth mark. I got it a while ago,and I am 21 if this info helps.

I never tan on purpose, but I tan super fast without trying. It only takes about ten minutes for me to tan. The patch is slightly rough, which bothers me a bit.

It could just be a perfectly normal skin color variation. But, how long have you had it? I think you should have your doctor take a look at it, or maybe see a dermatologist, because you are a little worried about what it might be.
If you find out that it is just a skin color variation investigate some of the creams or ointments that are "skin lighteners". For just a small patch they might be quite effective. Or you could wear a cosmetic cover up cream.

I had something simular on my butt. It was a almost square shaped dirty lookin patch. I think I got mine from a tanning bed. Well not really got from a tanning bed it was there my whole life but the tan brought it out. I even tried putting sun screen on just that spot and tanning but it did not work. The lady's at the salon told me that pressure from your body on the bed. They also told me that "hot spots" from sweat can intensify the effect. Try some concealer to cover it if your imbarrassed. Oh ya I too am hispanic. I've always thought it had something to do with that. When I was pregnant I had the really long dark line from between my boobs all the way down to my pelvic hair. So look forward to that. Its called a linia nigra and was produced from the chemicals in your body during pregnancy. Not to worry though it disapears after your done breast feeding. Your nipples will probably change yo a really dark color to. Acts like a bulls eye for the baby cause there eye sight is really bad when born. I wouldn't worry to much about it. Other than all the weird skin changin color thing hispanics have really nice complexions.

well, there isn't a photo or anything, but it just kind of sounds like almost a birthmark or some sort of pigmentation defect.
also i found on a website (below) that skin problems can be within the kidney, so make sure to flush out all the toxins and stuff from your body.
also - have you been tanning or anything?
if you are really concerned or it gets bigger or darker or asymettrical or anything, you should definately see a dermatologist.

No it is simply a birth mark. I have one just like it. It is a natural discoloring of skin from birth that you will never be able to get rid of. Any one can have one anywhere no matter what race. I am white and have three in several different places. Do not worry about them. They are as natural as the rest of your healthy skin.

If it's scaly, it might be a psoriasis patch. It's usually red but if you're dark-skinned, it may show up as a darker patch. Also, any trauma to the skin can cause a change in pigmentation. I scratched a mosquito bite, it bled, and when it healed, I had a freckle there. Completely normal, according to the doctors.

ohmygod!! me too like a little patch of dirt in my cleavage. but I don't know what it is, but the doc told me it could be a birthmark or just a darker pigmentation of that little part but I'm south-central Asian...annd my skin is really light....but I don't think you should worry
plus I always wore tshirts that were longsleeve/up to the neck for as long as I can remember so I don't think it's the sun

You should get that checked out by a doctor and you should go fast, so he can tell you what's wrong. It can be a disease, it can be bruised, from sun, from dietary items or even from certain chemicals. Maybe it's just a birth mark too. But definitely get it checked out!!

I had the same thing happen to me a few years ago. Except my piece of dirt was on my neck lol It was from the tanning bed. Luckily it only stayed for about a month or until my tan began to fade.
