dye your whole head the same shade as the hair you have now, so that you will have a mix between dark brown and black highlights just because you have blonde highlights :D hope this helped.

IF You Can Recolor Just The Streaked Strands: Go Over Them With A BEIGE OR CARAMEL Blonde. If You Can't, - Get It Done Professionally. If You Can't Do That, - Get CLAIROL® BORN BLONDE⢠No-Peroxide/No-Ammonia Lotion Toner In #357 Beautiful Beige⢠Or #367 Fresh Frost® Or #374 Hazelnut. This Will Tone JUST The Bleached Strands.
P.S. As For The "Professional Advice" To Use A 'BLUE' Shampoo Any Kindergartener Would Tell You, Yellow + Blue = Green
The Toners Listed Above Have A Violet Or Purple Base Which Is OPPOSITE Yellow/Gold On The Color Wheel. Which Means It 'Neutralizes' (Makes Beige Or 'Tan') Any Yellow/Gold Tones.
Good-Luck!

I have blonde streaks too (my natural hair is dark brown) and when they start looking 'brassy' I use a toner - by Schwarzkopf - its not very expensive but really does the trick and tones the yellow into a more whiter colour. It says to keep on for 5 minutes but I leave it for 10 minutes and it gives my hair a really lovely colour.

you actually need a purple base to cancel out yellow tone. They are opposite each other on the color wheel. There is a purple based shampoo called shimmer lights that i believe you can get at sally beauty supply. they are located all over the place, are open to the public and aren't to expensive. it should make your hair look the way you want it too.

This I know for SURE: Your hair actually needs blue tones. I worked in a salon for eight years, trust me on this.
My favorite pick is Aveda's Blue Malva shampoo and conditioner. It is AWESOME. You can find it here: http://aveda.com/templates/products/product_search.tmpl?KEYWORDS=blue+malva&x=0&y=0
You can order it online, but it will be MUCH easier and faster to go to an Aveda salon. To find one near you, go to this link: http://aveda.com/templates/door/locator.tmpl
I'm sure there are tons of brands at the grocery store that will work fine also. I recommend the Blue Malva because I used it myself for many years to get the ashy blond (which is the term for what you're looking for in case you go to a salon), versus the golden/brassy tones.
Good luck!!
PS Just an afterthought.... If you do go to an Aveda salon to pick up some shampoo, they also have a line called "personal blends" where you can make an even stronger blue shampoo. ALSO, any Aveda salon will have hairstylists MORE than willing to consult with you for free to tell you what to do and which to buy.
Note to "One": Interesting info! I think you better call Estee Lauder's Research and Development team who develop Aveda's product line and tell them that their product that has been out for several years will turn blonde hair green! Because obviously you know more than them. *wink*. :D (I kid. I kid.)

Put a gray dye in your hair to kill down the bright yellow tone or try putting a light brown coating on your hair. I would definitely go to a hair salon...

i agree with Laurie and so does my hairdresser friend.
your hair needs gray or blue tones if you have a distinct or mixed black type of hair.
