Why would there be cons? What do you think people did before there were soft drinks, coffee, tea, juices, etc. readily available. You are probably drinking the healthiest and most pure means of hydration. Good for you!

The only cons that come to mind is that some drinks other than water are infused with vitamins and electrolytes that your body might not otherwise get. Many of the vitamins infused in drinks and foods, our bodies cannot readily make and therefore it is supplied in foods and drinks most often consumed. Granted, water is the best substance for your body since it makes up 75% of it. However, if a person does not receive the appropriate amounts of the vitamins and minerals then deficiencies can occur, causing severe illness. To remedy this, simply take a multivitamin.

A few years ago, during a college hazing ritual, they forced this guy to drink 2 gallons of water in just a couple of minutes. Shortly there after, he became very ill and was rushed to the hospital where he died. The cause of death was drowning due to the cells in his body couldn't process and expel the liquid fast enough and no oxygen could feed the cells. That's about what it would take so you aren't going to die. There are some issues with washing away too much of the minerals so make sure you eat as usual.

Drinking water is good for you but it doesn't have all the vitamins & nutrients as some fruit juices or gatorade/powerade has. I drink a lot of water myself but sometimes when I drink too much of it, I don't feel replenished. Then I have to drink something else. Juices & sports drinks are not bad for but do have a lot of sugar in them. Try lite drinks.

Back when I wasn't a caffeine addict, all I drank was water too. The only issue that I can think of is that when you drink juice and some teas, you get vitamins and antioxidants. But if you eat healthy and take your vitamins, then it shouldn't be a problem.

no cons at all. As long as you are eating well, if you drank water and only water, good for you. I prefer a cup of tea or coffee also, but water does flush your body. The empty calories in soda and alcohol are not as good for you as water.
