My Vista doesn't have microsoft word what can i use to either download a free version of it of something comparable?

Downloading MS office free online is not legal. Open Office, as part of the open source project is free. You can also use google docs for your word processing needs.

Vista does not come with office

free 60 day office trial.... at microsoft.com

after 60 days it will expire....

you can try freeware package
