Anyone that lives in a region that gets snow would have seen their breath. It's a regular occurrence. I don't know what kind of statistics you could be gathering. You might as well ask how many times people have left footprints in snow.

When I was a child I lived up north and my bedroom was cold enough I could see my breath every morning in winter.

um,,,, to exactly answer your question. well. its not answerable. not me at least. to know how many people throughout history that have breathed in cold weather is a little impossible.
basically. EVERYONE that has breated in cold air see's their breath. its called condensation.
anyone who breaths breaths about 98.5 degree air out of their lungs, that air hits the cold air outside, creates condensation. for EVERYBODY that breathes in cold weather.

everyone has. lol since i was like 4 and would pretend i was smoking ive seen a little cloud of condensation in front of my mouth on a day when itas cold enough. :-D

i took a trip to washington state and yah.....but i live in honolulu (no kidding) and me and my little sis go to the organic produce section and its really cold in there so we see our breath!!! real fun!
