my 1st impression is of something cheap and gets the job done - not the real deal, just like a "chop shop" for cars - its just mish mashing pieces together hoping for something good and all at a lower price done by unprofessionals.

these are chop shops to me: Fantastic Sams, great clips, hair cuttery, clips r' us.

People butchering your hair, most people don't feel comfortable hearing the word chop in the title of a hair cutting salon... it makes them feel uneasy, like you're going to CHOP their hair, not cut it.

I would think that it's a salon for modern, trendy cuts. Because the most popular hair cuts right now are short, edgy, and straight.
I love that name. Much better than the regular ''Hair Salon''.
