(2 Thessalonians 2:1-12) . . .However, brothers, respecting the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered together to him, we request of YOU 2 not to be quickly shaken from YOUR reason nor to be excited either through an inspired expression or through a verbal message or through a letter as though from us, to the effect that the day of Jehovah is here. 3 Let no one seduce YOU in any manner, because it will not come unless the apostasy comes first and the man of lawlessness gets revealed, the son of destruction. 4 He is set in opposition and lifts himself up over everyone who is called “god” or an object of reverence, so that he sits down in the temple of The God, publicly showing himself to be a god. 5 Do YOU not remember that, while I was yet with YOU, I used to tell YOU these things? 6 And so now YOU know the thing that acts as a restraint, with a view to his being revealed in his own due time. 7

True, the mystery of this lawlessness is already at work; but only till he who is right now acting as a restraint gets to be out of the way. 8 Then, indeed, the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will do away with by the spirit of his mouth and bring to nothing by the manifestation of his presence. 9 But the lawless one’s presence is according to the operation of Satan with every powerful work and lying signs and portents 10 and with every unrighteous deception for those who are perishing, as a retribution because they did not accept the love of the truth that they might be saved. 11 So that is why God lets an operation of error go to them, that they may get to believing the lie, 12 in order that they all may be judged because they did not believe the truth but took pleasure in unrighteousness.

(2 Corinthians 11:12-15) 12 Now what I am doing I will still do, that I may cut off the pretext from those who are wanting a pretext for being found equal to us in the office of which they boast. 13 For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. 14 And no wonder, for Satan himself keeps transforming himself into an angel of light. 15 It is therefore nothing great if his ministers also keep transforming themselves into ministers of righteousness. But their end shall be according to their works.

Jesus himself warned that Satan the Devil would quickly oversow “weeds,” or false Christians, among the “fine seed,” or genuine Christians, that Jesus planted during his ministry. (Matthew 13:24, 25, 37-39) The apostle Paul warned that deceptive teachers were already at work in his day. The fundamental reason for their deviation from the teachings of Jesus Christ, he said, was that they had no real “love of the truth.”(2 Thessalonians 2:10)
The apostles of Jesus Christ acted as a restraint against this apostasy for as long as they lived. After the death of the apostles, however, religious leaders using “every powerful work and lying signs and portents and . . . every unrighteous deception” in order to mislead many turned more and more people away from the truths taught by Jesus and his apostles. (2 Thessalonians 2:3, 6-12) Since the death of the apostles, Christ has not been in much of what has taken place in the name of Christianity.
However, there have been faithful individuals who have tried to actively keep the teachings Jesus Christ in theory and in practice. Jesus Christ has kept his promise to support such ones as they endeavor to show the love that marks true Christians and to remain loyal to the truths that he taught while obeying his command to preach and teach. (Matthew 28:20)
On the other hand the majority of those in Christendom have "exchanged the truth of God for the lie". (Romans 1:25) The lie is more palatable to them than God's truth. They have not put up with the "healthful teaching" of Christ but have followed those who tickle their ears. (2Timothy 4:3-4)

Just as God sent His angels to remove Lot before destroying Sodom and Gomorrah, God will again save His people from His great wrath. There are numerous other examples of God saving His people and sparing them from His wrath in the Old and New Testaments. Jonah is another good example.
Jesus told us not to speculate about the day or the hour. He also told us to be aware of the seasons and to "Watch" for the signs of the times. No one knows the exact time except God Almighty, but God expects us to be able to see the seasons.
Luke 21:36 "Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of man."
Luke 21:8-36...In it Jesus gives us warning signs to look for. Keep in mind that Jesus is speaking to the Jewish people here.
In John 14:3 Jesus states: "And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you may also be where I am."
Look up the word "Take" in the Hebrew texts as used in this sentence, much different than the words Jesus used to describe His Triumphant return at His second coming.
Quite interesting reading. God Bless You...Peace.

People follow the lie because it is easier. One doesn't have to do anything extra. Whatever they choose to do is fine. No exertion or study must be done. True, the downside is that the results are not pleasant; but other than that, not bad.
Following the truth is not a burden but does require effort on one's part to study, reason, and change one's life to follow God's standards. It requires effort and some expense to follow in Christ's footsteps of preaching and teaching the good news of God's Kingdom. We must first KNOW what we are talking about so we can answer people's questions.

Get to believing the lie, now what do you think might be the lie? I'm inclined to think it may be the trinity doctrine among other things, but I think that belief is the worse in that it negates the one God notion, which is the basic premise of true Christianity.

I believe in the truth. And the truth is that there is only one God who's name is Jehovah and his son Jesus Christ who sacrificed himself in order for us to regain salvation.
But unfortunately brother, I'll have to agree with everyone else, I'm finding it hard to follow what you are trying to say.

I hope that I am not believing a lie. Other than that, you are a little hard to follow. I don't know what kind of point you are making.
