Woman should not be exposed to the carnage, gore, death, and maiming, or the countless other disgusting things that occur while in the front lines. I should not be wondering whether or not she is "ready". Hesitate in combat and I guarantee you one thing, a nice bag for your dead body, or the soldier next to you will end up in your bag because of your incompetence. Why put liabilities in the front lines? To fulfill their dreams? To prove that they don't belong there? To get troops killed?

There is only ONE reason that I do not like women in battle, that reason is if they should become a prisoner of war, they can do things to a woman that they can not do to a man.

Hesitation is not limited to women, a man can hesitate and get a woman killed just as easy as a woman might do so. The body bag could just as easily hers as yours. Further have a woman beside you in battle just might make you fight harder, as a man we have a built in instinct to protect them so I could see myself being more aware of what is going on around me.

Women in todays army are on the frontlines, maybe not as infantryman or special forces but there are women that do combat patrols right along with the men. When I was in Baghdad we had to have a female with us on all of our patrols and raids to search females. They walked right along side of us and did all the same things we did without any problems besides the whole not being able to pee anywhere thing. There werent any issues of sexual harrassment or anything like that. They were even eager to do some of the "cool guy" stuff. So yes I do think that women could and should be allowed into combat MOS's. I dont think that gender plays a role in this situation. I think that it is the competence, skill and determination of the soldier, not if they have male or female reproductive organs.

P.S. I have seen both males and females scared in a MP company that were scared to go and get there wounded out of a blown up vehicle and we had to do it. Just more to back up my belief. Both males and females are to scared to do their job sometimes.

I believe the women who can meet the standards set for the men should be allowed the job.
If your going to generalise half of the worlds population as 'incompetent' then don't be surprised if i call you ignorant.
Sure, the majority of women in the world right now (in my opinion and yours) are unfit for the job, but whos to say that there isn't at least one female out there that can kick your ******* *** and quite possibly save it from attack................................******* douche

Women should not fight in combat .....as an infantryman for 6 yrs. in the Army , I believe that women should be back supporting the Infantry guys fight in the frontline. .....imagine if the women are caught by the enemy during wartime , they gonna rape and do something stupid like having her pregnant with a child. do you think that women just accept that fate, i dont think so, some do other wont accept it.

I've known some big, mean, and dangerous women in my lifetime. If I were in the military, I would have no problem fighting alongside a woman who was trained and ready.

I think it would be a real hoot if we had an all volunteer, all female combat brigade, willing to take on those bad guys who have no respect for women. Defeat and humiliation at the hands of women would go a long way toward taking down their cause a peg or two.

its just no good for a female to be integrated in the camaraderie of those out in the thick of it. It can throw everything off and cause horrible decisions.

i wouldnt want a women in enemy POW camps either.

an finally, in fighting so close quarters, i don't want my enemy taking a shot at me b/c he thinks he can pull a fast one on my team mates b/c of the female weak link. Im not saying she would be a physically or emotionally a weak link. But the last thing we need is the enemy to not no any better.

Women should not be allowed to fight because they produce different hormones that makes them more sensitive. They are too motherly, no offense. They can also be distracting to the horny male soldiers. Lastly, the Muslims will show less mercy for female soldiers because of their customs and beliefs. I don't mean to offend anyone with this, but its true

Other armies have women. Women can be just as vicious, brutal, bloodthirsty, focused, violent, competent, etc as men can be. And you're right, you shouldn't be worried if she's ready or not, because she should be as highly trained as any male soldier. Hesitation isn't something that females have a monopoly on. There are paramedics, doctors, firefighters, police officers, violent criminals and martial artists who happen to be women.

Or on the flipside, if the enemy soldier happens to be a female and she shoots you, is the wound less damaging?

Well... yes.

I think gender requirements should be eliminated from most or all jobs, and only physical requirements (or mental ones) retained.

So, if a job typically requires a male's strength and endurance to do, only "strength" and "endurance" should be the hurdles, and not "gender". Even though those measures might be set at a level typical of males, but not most females.

In this modern world of equal rights, i think they should. I know many women that I think could fight as well as any man. You said they don't belong there, you??? And your proof is where?
