So I went to a concert last sunday and had some beers and soda in my trucks ice chest, we also kept the hamburger patties we were grilling in there as well as the bacon to keep them cool.
Eventually at the end of the night the ice drained, the majority of the beers were drunk, and everyhing else was forgotten, so now ive had a good amount of beers and sodas left in there with a couple patties of meat, for a week, it now reeks and ive been to lazy to dump it out I finally did today cause it was unbearable...stunk like a dead animal in the trunk, I mean bad awful it willl take weeks to get rid of that smell....but are my beers ok?
Can i still drink those beers can they have been contaminated, they are cans and ive washed them off but they also stink ..I was thinking of poring them in a cup...

what do you guys think...are they still safe?
Thanks to all!

Unless the beer came in full contact with the meat, if they are unopened in bottle or can, they are fine

I've had similar happenings with hot dogs & lunch meat in the ice chest, just wash the cans!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As long as the beer was sealed and you wash the cans with some bleach water it is OK. The fact that they got hot is what would make it taste bad. Once a beer is cooled down then let get hot again, it seems flat and can tasting to me. Just fill your ice chest up with hot soapy bleach water and wash the cans, rinse good. I'd just leave that bleach water in the ice chest for a few days! Maybe you can salvage it. As for the beer ice it back down as cold as possible not in the frig. they are fine.

if you washed the cans and they still stink maybe you should throw them out and just buy more beer.

I wouldn't drink them if they are not bottle capped or if they are standing in hot weather. It wouldn't be very safe to drink them. You could drink them but you might get sick in your stomach.

It's best that you don't drink it or
