Shellfish usually is pretty high in cholesterol and 6lbs of shrimp is not quite a balanced diet even divided for a week. One week has 5 days so do the math 1lb and something a day?!. Even if you're only eating shrimp for the five days all day long it is probably bad for you also pretty boring to eat as well! I mean ... I'm sure it can't be any good for your health either.

As with other seafood, shrimp is high in calcium and protein but low in food energy. A shrimp-based meal is also a significant source of cholesterol, from 7 mg to 251 mg per 100 g of shrimp, depending on the method of preparation.
Advantage: Calcium and Protein good for both bones and teeth.
Disadvantage: Low in food energy and a source of cholesterol which causes high blood pressure.
Many people are now aware of their own blood cholesterol level, have it measured regularly and eat diets high in polyunsaturates. This is because they know that high cholesterol levels in the blood, and fat-rich diets, are likely to lead to heart attacks and strokes, particularly in later life. Some also know that the narrowing of arteries, particularly the coronary arteries, is due to the deposition of atherosclerotic plaques, made largely of cholesterol, on the walls of the vessels. Narrowing of the arteries reduces the flow rate, especially as flow depends on the fourth power of the radius. Thus, at a given pressure, reducing the radius to one half of normal would reduce the flow rate to one sixteenth of the original value. Adequate flow can then only be maintained by a rise in blood pressure.
Note that it *may not* cause cancer. Abnormally low levels of cholesterol are termed hypocholesterolemia. Research into the causes of this state is relatively limited, and while some studies suggest a link with depression, cancer and cerebral hemorrhage it is unclear whether the low cholesterol levels are a cause for these conditions or an epiphenomenon.
Lots of food that has cancer cells cause cancer. Cancer, by definition, is a disease of the genes. A gene is a small part of DNA, which is the master molecule of the cell. Genes make "proteins," which are the ultimate workhorses of the cells. It is these proteins that allow our bodies to carry out all the many processes that permit us to breathe, think, move, etc.

What doesn't cause cancer these days?! Shrimp is very low in fat but high in cholesterol. It also contains beneficial Omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin B-12 and niacin. they are also rich in iron, zinc and copper.
I recommend buying Wild American shrimp. You might pay a little more, but its way better than the pond raised shrimp from overseas.

Repeated exposure to fried stuff could increase your risk of developing cancer, says a study.
Scientists in Singapore have studied varieties of fried food and found potentially harmful particles released into the air when oil is heated to the temperature needed to cook chips or stir-fries, reported the online edition of Daily Mail.
All cooking oils produce these harmful particles but vegetable oil is the most dangerous.

IT WILL NOT CAUSE CANCER BUT IT WILL HAVE SOME DEADLY AFFECTS TO IT IF YOU EAT TOO MUCH OF IT!
IT MIGHT CAUSE CHOLESTERAL OR HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE WHICH CAN ALSO BE DEADLY!
P.S. i advise people not to eat shrimp cuz it is gross(IMAO)
and it isn't good for you! THAT'S WHY I ONLY EAT FISH AND HEALTHY STUFF AND SOMETIMES FRESH MEAT ON RARE OCCASIONS!!! I ALSO RARELY EAT JUNK FOOD BECAUSE IT CAN MAKE PEOPLE FAT!!

shrimp is good for you unless it grew up eating something toxic.
foods that may cause cancer are milk and cheese from cows that were given RGBH hormone (80% of US milk) and meats and eggs from animals injected with hormones as well - I suggest eating organic meats, eggs and milk and organic fruits and veggies especially if they have thin skin - otherwise they will have pesticides which will lead to cancer
also some people think aspartame leads to cancer and processed foods; also some people supspect microwaving frozen dinners releases toxins from the plastics into the food
no wonder 1 in 3 people living today will have a cancer by the end of their life

shrimp is bad if you don't take out the vein because it can be poisonous. And the French don't eat it because it eats the scraps off the ocean floor, and they think thats disgusting.
