Obviously, the world as a whole is at a loss for the moment, in regards to whether or not there is a God.

If it was your choice; you decide whether or not there is a God, what would you pick?

**Please DO NOT answer with anything but an answer to the question. I don't care about your Bible quotes, or anything that says this is unrealistic. My question; my terms--answer relevantly, or just don't answer.

Thank you for your answer, and have a nice day/night :)

Well let's see.

In a world with NO God...
Hitler gets to die at a time of his choosing and his method, in the arms of his lover, sipping wine and smiling.

In a world with God..
Hitler has to answer for every evil thing he's ever done, and so do the rest of us.

When you say "a God", do you mean the Judeo-Christian, Biblical, Abrahamic deity Yahweh (as indicated by the uppercase "G" in your use of the term "God"), or do you mean any old deity that comes to mind?

If you mean the former, I'd prefer that the Judeo-Christian, Biblical, Abrahamic deity Yahweh didn't exist. If you mean the latter, well, I can't say for sure but perhaps there is a god or goddess out there that strikes my fancy. I'd have to peruse the entire list to make sure.

I would pick that there was a God. So many people who are in need of hope, have nothing to live for and no one to turn to. They could turn to God and he could help them. Also, God could do so many things that humans could not. There are no bad things about having a God, so why say no?

A loving God

That depends on the God.

Do I get to choose the form that this God takes? If so, then yes, I would choose for there to be a God (I do believe in a divine power, btw, but to call it "God" would be demeaning). However, if my choice is, say, Kali or nobody--I choose nobody.

Yes, for me it's easier to believe there is a God, than that there is not. There are too many miracles of creation for me to think it all happened by accident. It's all good, and to me God is light, and the universal energy. Not all the garbage man has attached to the idea. I believe there are great new discoveries and discussions about God coming out now that challenge the old traditional thinking. Thanks for asking. It's good to think about.

Ah, to only have the power.

I personally would choose a world with many gods. The Greek pantheon was a pretty interesting bunch. Imagine if they were sticking their noses in everyone's business again. Sounds like an interesting time to me.

Yes, I would choose God. Otherwise, the world's meaning is taken away.

I would pick that there is a God. Somebody to let us know right from wrong, to remind of us to remember the humanity that is possible within each of us, regardless of personal beliefs.

I would choose for there to be a God.

As an atheist, I'm sounding kind of hypocritical. But it would be nice for there to be a big guy in the sky to help the starving children in Africa, stop the genocide and wars, and make sure my ex-wife lives a terrible life, etc... But I would skip out on the eternal-life thingy.

There! I have stated my opinion. Let the thumbs-down begin.
I think I may start a new record.

In this theoretical, is it a god of my design, or the god of Christian design? That's key to my answer, because I would choose no god if I can't make up the rules. For instance, a god that considers homosexuality (I'm straight), masturbation, etc. etc. as sinful, is no god of mine. If, however, I could design a more loving, accepting god who did not ruthlessly punish but instead chose to prove himself to all of his children through compassion and understanding...then I guess I would say yes. Furthermore, the god of my design wouldn't hide behind the clouds giggling at his children, he would be interactive. Therefore, we would all believe in him, and religion would no longer be a cause for fighting.

But, of course, it's all hypothetical.
