The 60GB and 80GB PS3 are both $499. The 60GB PS3 costs the same as the 80GB PS3 because it has the emotion engine chip that allows it to play more PS1 and PS2 games.

Above are right, also the remaining 60bg are selling somewhere around 470. The best thing it to get a deal where you get stuff like extra games or controllers with the console tho. I bought my 80gb for 499.99 and it came with an extra controller, and HDMI cable. So I was happy:) only problem is its taking sooo long to ship... :(
