I'm doing a project on To Kill A Mockingbird and I need some info on what African Americans wore in the 1930s. Also, could you tell me what white and black people ate then too. Thanks!

****** dressed like everyone else, except that because of their poor economic status, there almost no middle class blacks. They were very poor, especially the Southern share croppers. Check Google for information on Life magazine. This was a picture magazine. Look for a reference where you can see some of the pictures.

Same thing as any other race, why don't you repost the question asking fashion styles of the 1920s-1930s for better responses.

There weren't any African-Americans in 1930. They were called Negroes. After that, they were called colored people.

Back then they were "blacks" just as white people were "whites." They wore what anyone else of that generation wore during the depression. Mainly "flapper" clothing.
