Split ends is when one little hair splits the long way...it splits like string cheese. Usually if one hair does it, all the hairs that grow very long do it. It is something that happens mostly to people with long hair.

Parting your hair on the left or right isn't "split hair".

It refers to individual fibers of hair that split longitudinally down the middle. Like cracks in general, if the split isn't sealed in some way, it will continue to propagate and keep splitting. Some believe that searing ( burning ) the ends is preferable to cutting them ( and splitting them further ).

spit ends is when your hair is breaking and becoming thinner so its splitting do to nonconditioning and things such as to much heat (flat iron, blow dryer, and curling iron) wash your hair and try puting some olive oil on it. that will restore some of the minerals to help it get back healthy
