Compassion Love
Ritual or religion is a good tool to be used to open a persons heart to the transcendent . Then making the person spiritual.
Religion needs spirituality. Spirituality does not need religion.
Every human is in some way spiritual. Some of us are in kinder garden some of us have graduate degrees.
How do you get to Carnegie Hall? Practice practice practice
How do you get spiritual? practice practice practice practice?
You cant get it in church. YOU get it in the parking lot after church when someone CUTS you off in traffic. When things don't go the way you want them. How we react what we do. is the measure of spirituality.
Faith without works is dead. spiritual is helping widows and orphans keeping ones self pure of the sins of the world. That is the Definition of Religion Given By James in the bible.

To be Spiritual is not something that you can do it is something that you are. It is the knowledge that you are a spirit inside of a body and that your spirit is connected another spirit greater than yourself. That Spirit being the Spirit of God. It is not a religious issue as much as it is about an inner issue. Religion is more about what you do rather than who you are. If you have the knowledge and wisdom of and through the Spirit then your life will reflect that and it will be more meaningful and less confusing. If you know why your doing something versus just doing something just because it seems to be more easy to do it.

Spirituality is not necessarily just religion but they are linked.
Religion is a result of being spiritual if you chose it. So you can be spiritual without being religious.
The definition (in my terms) of spirituality means that you believe in something greater than us as humans, a greater existence. This does not have to be 'God' as such.
So, you can believe in a greater existence (hence you can be spiritual) and not practice the set of beliefs in a particular religion.

Some people use this term to distinguish it from people who belong to a particular religious denomination. In their mind, a person is spiritual because they pray in their own way apart from any institutional religious tradition.
Other people use the term to describe their own personal relationship to God even though they do participate in a particular religious institution. Every religion has within it a variety of different spiritual families, and so people use that term to distinguish between them within a particular religious system, whether it be Islam, Christianity or whatever.

OK, in a plain English answer, I believe being spiritual means that you have a personal relationship with a higher being, whether it's God, Allah, Bhudda, or whomever you choose to believe in. The difference between religious and spiritual is that religious persons usually attend worship services and practice their faith on a regular basis. It's hard to describe, but there's my understanding.

try researching it on wikipedia or something ..
you dont have to believe in a higher being to be spiritual .. which is what many christians believe.
"in a narrow sense, concerns itself with matters of the spirit. The spiritual, involving (as it may) perceived non-physical eternal verities (or even abilities) involving humankind's ultimate nature often contrasts with the earthly, with the material, or with the worldly"
Buddhist are widely known for their spirituality .. tho they dont believe in any gods

I think of spiritual as having less to do with God and/or church and more with being in tune with nature and the universe... Believing that there is a force or an energy to things

I would say it means being curious about the purpose of life and wondering about your place in it. This doesn't even have to necessarily involve religion. The same types of questions are asked in literature.

Being spiritually minded is important for all of us my friend. First, we have to think, why am i here? Is it because your parents made you? maybe yes but there is a reason behind aside from that! That is God, gave you life! So being spiritual is giving importance to what God gave you, life, air, water, food love ones, all the things that you have and you see, all came from God.
In our days, there are a lot of sect, religions claiming to be true Christians. But the bible says theres only one Religion!
My friend let me introduce you Jesus' father....most of the people dont know his personal name..YES!! Jesus' father has a personal name...it was written 7000 times in the bible( you can actually check ur own bible if you have)..his name is Jehovah ( Psalm 83:18)
He is the creator of all! Dont you know that He promised an everlasting life for all of us? (Refvelation 21:4) 4 And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”
See..in the mere future, there will be no more death! all the roots of our tears will disappear! and we will live here on earth happy. No more wicked persons! (psalm 37:10-11;29)
10 " And just a little while longer, and the wicked one will be no more;
And you will certainly give attention to his place, and he will not be."
11 "But the meek ones themselves will possess the earth,
And they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace. "
29 "The righteous themselves will possess the earth,
And they will reside forever upon it. "
But Jehovah will ask something from us in order to get that promise!!!
John 17:3 says "This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ. "
So my friend, it is so important that we give time to GOd's words, study the bible...getting the exact and right knowledge from the true God and the one he sent here on earth his Son, Jesus Christ means an everlasting Life for us!!!
My friend, 2 Tim 3:1-5 says 1 " But know this, that in the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here. 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, self-assuming, haughty, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, disloyal, 3 having no natural affection, not open to any agreement, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, without love of goodness, 4 betrayers, headstrong, puffed up [with pride], lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godly devotion but proving false to its power; and from these turn away.
Yes...we are now leaving in the last days,,,,that is why, we have to act now,,,,we Jehovah's Witnesses like the bibles prophecy Matthew 28:19
" Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit" we are here to help people know about the bible, to know the true God as long as theres time left for all of us!
If you are interested to know more about the bible,,,look for the nearest Jehovah's Witness in your location....or open see the site www.watchtower.org...
