What's up with you people! We don't go around making fun of baptists, catholics or jews. we don't despise you or debunk your beliefs. why does everyone hate romney for being a mormon! we never made fun of Bush being a presbiterian. SO why do you bash us and our religion

Unfortunately, most people only ever hear about Mormons when they get convicted of things like making young girls marry their uncles. While this doesn't happen very often, once is enough to put a negative stereo type in peoples' minds. People are frightened by things they don't understand and the stigma of polygamy associated with Mormons has is misunderstood and therefore, feared. I know people who think I'm crazy for not eating bacon because I'm allergic to the preservatives, imagine if you told someone you didn't ingest caffeine because of your religious beliefs?

Everyone thinks of polygamy when they think of mormons, and that scandal of mormon priests marrying 12-13yr old girls. Nobody makes fun of Bush for being a presbiterian because presbitarians are boring, and he gives people enough material to work with everytime he opens his mouth.
P.S. Back the hell off with the "you people" attitude. Everybody laughs at everybody else at some point or another, it's human nature. You can't go about being unique without expecting some critisism.

Its easy to do and you do not study your own scripture. The elders never return after I ask them about certain things in their scriptures (I have been thru the whole set of classes).
If you want to make fun of the ninja baptists or what ever go ahead. It will be interesting to read the first joke that starts with "a priest, a jew and a mormon walk into a bar...".
I am a pagan by the way.

I dont know about others but I don't bash anyones religeon who believes in God and the Lord Jesus Christ. I have served in the army with several Mormons and I have always respected their beliefs, I fought along side of them in the Korean War and in Vietnam. They have always earned my deepest respect. I am a baptist and no Mormons have ever put me down that i know of and i have been to their church different times as neighbors.

I don't bash Mormons. Actually you guys are virtually the only Christian sect I leave alone. Unless you count Jews. Just stay off my doorstep at 5am on a saturday and we're cool. Mormons don't really go around telling me I'm going to hell, i don't see mormons bombing abortion clinics, and I don't see Mormons screaming hate at the top of their lungs. You guys are OK with me.

People are more commonly exposed to the FUNDAMENTALIST Mormon views than the mainstream because it's usually in the news with the whole polygamy deal, plus those nasty Lafferty killings. It's not your fault; it's popular culture. It'll die off in a while.

Who is bashing you? I certainly don't agree with some Mormon beliefs, but that's why I'm not a Mormon. Same reason I'm not Baptist, Jewish or Presbyterian.

i make fun of all religions just cause its fun. its never serious. but mormonism has always been a sort of outcast of christianity. catholicism and protestantism are virtually the same with different clergies and thats about it. mormonism added extra books new prophets and some things that frankly even you must surely be able to under stand seems a bit rediculous. more than anything though i think mormon is just a fun word lol.

i can't bash Mormons, for i have family that are. i went to service with them, Sunday school with them, etc. to answer your question, most are well meaning persons that see Mormonism as a cult. Some bash you all for they are just ignorate or jealous in some way. Myself, if you all believe in Christ AS I DO, then let's leave all other things at the door and have Him reveal himself to us, in spirit and in truth, then that will end all bashing, period.
