My husband has gotten those before. The doctor gave him medication the first time, but depending on how bad it is they remove it with a small surgery.

It depends on whether you go to an opthamologist or an optometrist. An ophtamologist is actually a doctor, so he/she can provide you with a prescription to help with the infection. The optometrist can only help with glasses to correct vision, and will refer you to a doctor. You don't actually need an opthamologist, a regular GP can handle a stye.

hey here is what you do save yourself some money. go to the pharmacy and tell them you have a stye. ask them for that medicine. they will show you where it is. you justput in eye couple times a day and be gone in few days. there you go. it won't cost doctor or whatever and its ok. if it happens again do it again. it works and i was really lucky my son told me about this. take care.
