not only because of the mayan calender,there is a significant astrological event on the exact same date as the end of the calender 12-21-12.also many other legitimate psychics have pointed the this time in history(cayce,nostradamus,the bible)so i give the date a lot more attention.

Absolutely! I am an avid occultist, so ancient predictions fascinate me. The Mayas, Nostradamus, and various others have pinpointed December 21, 2012 as the end of the world. You can take that as the Apocalypse, or a major change in thought and existence.

No.
Just like the world was supposed to end at the beginning of the last millennium, the poles were to shift during the last planetary alignment and aliens were supposed to blow up the Earth on May 25th 2006 it's just another doomsday scenario that gullible people buy into.
There's nothing to show that the world will end. In fact the Mayan calendar doesn't end there so much as a new calendar is supposed to start up after December 25th 2012.

I am - I'm interested to see if anything happens. I don't believe it's the end of the world, but I do believe there's a reason the Mayan calender ends then.
There are so many theories - I know Daniel Pinchbeck has some books out about it, but I haven't read them yet.

I'm working on 2007 right now. What's so special about 2012? Some kind of Y2K12 or something? The latest prediction of the end of the world? Check the Bible...nobody knows the time of the 2nd coming except for God...and He's not sayin'.

-2012 is an election year, there is one term between now and then.
-Insurgent and activism has been increasing in both size and complexity at an accelerating rate
-The world is only becoming more and more over populated
-Bureaucratic corruption and ineptitude is snowballing
A lot can happen in the next 4 years.

not but you know we need to pay more atenction to the precent to our family to our kids to the people we love the most we need to pay atenction to the if something happen you enjoy evry single moment with you family letting them knhow how much you care for the especial people not to act when we have the rope on or neck and thats when we are praying you know im not afreid to die cos i have enjoy evry moment with my familly they know how much I care and if its our turn so be it
