Has anyone made any homemade tortillas lately, particularly one who asked me for a recipe (you know who you are, lol)? No, seriously, to everybody, how often do you make them, and what are the different ways, if any, that other people like to make their homemade tortillas?

Well I made them, and I'm hooked. They were more square than round but they sure were good :) From now on, I'll definately be making them instead of buying them. Thanks.

The first & last time I made flour tortillas, they came out like manhole covers. I only buy corn tortillas. But if you are making homemade flour, I'll gladly take some.

flour (maseca brand) its authentic mexican flour. Add some warm water n a pinch of salt for taste. mix it well with ur hands until it looks like dough. Start making pieces of flour into round balls. If u dont have a tortilla machine take a flat plate, n cut up a plastic wrapper. lay one piece of plastic on the counter then put the ball of tortilla on top n then lay another piece of plastic n then press with the plate or anything flat u may have. u heat it in a frying pan or a griddle but with no oil. turning the tortilla every 2 -3 mins. Enjoy!!

I made mine with 3 cups of flour, and couple of teaspoons of lard{snow cap brand} salt and a little bit of warm water to get it together. I have added baking powder but the taste was to over powering for me. I used to know this lady who made them from wheat flour and my mom would to but there is nothing like fresh tortillas with a butter in the inside and AAAHHH memories of my mom

Gosh, I wish. My ex boyfriends mom made the flour ones all the time. They were sooooo much better than store bought. I never got the chance to have her show me how to make them and now I really regret it. She used to make the most amazing tamalies too *sigh*. Sure miss those at Christmas!

I make them weekly. So much better than store bought. I even converted my husband to them. I just whiz the flour, oil, water, salt, and cumin in the food processor, form the balls, let rest, and then press them. I've even tried ones with chili powder and Parmesan. But my corn ones never turn out so well. I'm making another batch tomorrow.

Chappatis in India. We make them my kneading the flour with water, milk or curd (yoghurt) and a pinch of salt. Or for stuffed chappatis add coriander leaves, boiled and mashed potatoes, minced onions.
