I guess it's okay to eat them cause they are precooked, but i wouldn't cause when u eat it out of the package you are eating it with a lot of sodium and other preservatives stuff, but if it's boiled or cooked at least than all of that sodium and everything else won't be in the hot dog anymore and it will be a lot more healthier to eat!

Like 67 is old,,,grasshopper!....I eat raw hot dogs,,,,alone or with a piece of white bread, folded up around it....I have also been known to put one on a fork and roast it over my gas burner....I also eat potted meat and bologna,,and all those extra salty things that are so bad for you....but I don't eat them often.. I may be crazy but I'm not suicidal.

I thought everyone ate them raw, but the other day my buddy gave me a hotdog and he seemed shocked that I just ate it instead of putting it into the frying pan.
For anyone who doesn't realize it, raw hotdogs aren't really raw, the meat is pre-cooked.

No one should ever eat raw meat that is not organic, that is not grass-fed, and that is not raised in hygienic conditions...meaning that no one should eat raw meat in the U.S. The easiest way to contract E Coli and other harmful bacteria and viruses is by eating uncooked or undercooked meat. Eating raw hot dogs specifically is even worse because hot dogs are made of different types of mixed meats (such as beef, pork, or chicken) that are ground up and combined with binders and fillers that form it into a hot dog. So you really don't know what went into that hot dog. Better to cook it and kill off any germs or bacteria that may be lingering.

Yes, it is OK to eat them from out of the fridge. The meat is all cooked and processed in advance. It's the same as eating luncheon or deli meat (cold salami, ham, etc.)

I ate raw hot dogs when I was a kid, 45 years ago.
They are thoroughly cooked when you buy them.
You just heat them up to eat them, well, most people do. They are the same thing as bologna.

if they are like ballpark or bar-s type hotdogs then they are fully cooked so they are fine. but there might be some specialty brand that isn't fully cooked that would be bad to eat raw.
