Were their messengers told to preach to this creature as well as to the human?

In Judaism only humans have free will and thus only humans can benefit from following the Torah. All other creatures, natural or supernatural have no free will and automatically do the will of God.
Genies specifically are not mentioned in any Jewish works at all, though it could be debated of some of the Kochot (supernatural entities that perform specific tasks for God) would fulfill the definition.

Genie is a western twist of the Jinn from the Islamic faith. The jinn are creatures created out of fire, and they have free will just as humans. Therefore some are good and some are not. In Islam, Satan is a jinn and was cursed by God when God ordered all of His creations to bow down to Adam. Satan refused out of arrogance (he was created from fire, and Adam from dust). We don't believe Satan was a fallen angel because in Islam, angels are perfect beings in perfect obedience to God. The weren't given free will, so they cannot disobey.

Genies in Christianity are devils, as are all mythical creatures. They have pagan, occult roots.

This Christian does not believe in Genies. We are commanded to share the gospel with our fellow brothers and sisters...humanity.
Demons don't get a second chance, so it would be pointless to talk to them.
