My pastor, Father Steven Downes, was held at gun point yesterday at the 5:30 mass. A gun man came into the church and was acting suspicously around the choir. When Father Steve went over to see what was wrong, the gun man punched and kicked him. He flew onto his back and passed out. The church then grabbed rope and tied the criminal up. This was in Palmdale, CA in LA county. Have you seen the news about this SoCal residents?

Not a SoCal resident but this is pitiful. To attack a man of God in church is just horrible. Quite frankly though things like this are happening more and more often. I have a concealed carry permit and go to church armed at the request of my pastor. It is a lousy world we live in when church is not safe.

With Christianity's "passive aggressive" take on all other religions it is no wonder this does not happen more often. I know I have alto of aggression I would like to take out on Christianity, but unfortunately in this day and age I can't. Although I do not know the man personally, he could be a good open-minded person and not deserve what he got, but again being a pastor of Christianity gives him a bad mark in my book, just like my not being a Christian is probably a bad mark in his.

Do not judge me I am just being honest.

The first time I've seen a catholic priest assaulted. It's usually the other way around, with a choir boy thrown somewhere in the mix..
