Yes, i'd imagine that you would get an overall 'package' price from your florist that includes the table centre pieces, and your mother-in-law would pay that.
Lucky you! :o)

Hi. Ummmm....you better check with her! Just come out and ask. Perhaps she doesn't KNOW that you are having floral centerpieces too. Don't assume she knows, just ask before it's too late. Personally, I think if she offered to pay for the "flowers" she is meaning all flowers for the ceremony, and things like the bouquets, corsages, boutonnieres. I am really thinking she DOES NOT mean the centerpieces too, but you won't know unless you ask. If she does not want to pay for the centerpieces, then please call the florist so that the two bills can be separated.

It is traditonal for the brides parents to pay for everything except the rehersal dinner and the honeymoon. The rehersal dinner is covered by the grooms parents, and the honeymoon the couple.
If your mother-in-law offered to pay for the flowers. It would be best to have her clarify what she means instead of asking her to pay of the center pieces.

Unless you're still in the 20th century, the couple usually pays for everything themselves. For many people, centerpieces are part of the floral bill.
If the parents want to foot part or all of the bill, it needs to be set in stone who is paying for what before any contracts are signed and checks written so there is no confusion.

"Hi MIL, I know that you said you wanted to pay for flowers - and I REALLY, REALLY appreciate it! I just wanted to see if you have an idea of what your budget is? I want to make sure that I stay within what you were planning to contribute."
Get the #, go from there - but be sure that you & FI can afford to cover the cost, should something happen to MIL's cash supply.

If your in-laws offered to pay for the flowers, I think that should include the floral centerpieces.

You need to discuss this with them, since they might be thinking about just the bouquets and ceremony decorations. If you have floral centerpieces, it would be part of the whole floral package.

This is something that you will need to clarify with your in-laws to see exactly what they meant. If that did not include the centrepieces, ask them if they would mind including that as well. Good luck.
