Muslim conflicts now - Sunni/Shiite, radical/moderate, democracy/theocracy. Do you think this could be the start of a new Islam?

Not reformation. Islam is currently going back to its roots and the Salafi (purists) schools of Sunni islam are starting to take hold of the muslims. The return of islam to 7th century arabia, to the time of Muhammad is the cause of islam's bad image. Whether that can be prevented remains to be seen.

First of all Snarky- I'd like to add that the Protestants and Catholics have been waging war on each other for hundreds of years in Ireland. The Crusades were started by Catholics and ended up killing many Muslims AND Christians.

And now to actually answer the question....Muslims have always been against these issues because it is wrong to kill any person...and only like 1% of Muslims are radical, but they seem to be the ones that taint the whole image of Muslims in this country, so of course they're going to be alot of Muslims against these radicals. The radicals aren't practicing Islam the way it is suppose to be. I think it's not the start of a new Islam, it's just people finally realizing that the whole media view of Muslims is a conspiracy and scape goat for Bush to allow soldiers to stay in Iraq. At least that's what I think.

Islam has actually gone over several shifts, including the creation of the Sunni/Shiite/Suffi split, along with the rise and fall of Caliphates.
Is a new change on the horizon? Maybe. But nothing as massive as a complete reformation. Not yet at least.

Its not an actual question because the religion doesn't need reforming but the people do.

Differences will always exist but its how we deal with those differences that count. This groups have been around for a long time and its not that easy to change something.

Although if you are saying Islam is wrong and needs changing then you are accusing the Messenger of God (peace and blessings of God be upon him) of delivering the incomplete message. That would lead to disbelief.

Think carefully the people do need sorting but not the religion.

There are many Muslims who don't like the image Terrorism has given their religion. For the past century, they have been relatively quiet and Westerners forgot they were around until Israel came home.

Then there was the Olympic bombings at Munich, the beginning of politics by murder.

Although they will still be blowing up mosques and sacrificing their children, to avoid being called a traitor to Muhammad, most main stream Islamists do not speak up--a public statement creates a visible target.

I believe there may be a few here in America that understand their religion has been hijacked..I don't think there are any in the Middle East that feel that way. The Muslims need to stand up and protest the radicals but they are afraid of their own peers..sad religion.

Not that way. Indeed people are re-understanding the teachings of Islam. In general the Muslim community fell behind the age. So this is the era of re-understanding Islam and applying it to todays World.
I'm sure we'll see the effects in 10-20 years time. Invest in Islam. :)

Well, first i think that today in such time when the world is at the very apex of technological advancements that people and nations have split too much in their own, neglecting, rejecting each others spreading hatred and indulging in sex, money, lust etc...beyond the limits of GOD, i think it is now time again to REFORM the true religion of GOD on HIS planet EARTH, and hence so it will be again the same times as the world has seen before.

GOD has spoken to humans before numerous times but that was long before and through Abraham, Moses, Jesus (MAY PEACE BE UPON ALL THESE TRUES PROPHETS OF ALLAH) and similarly the last time ALLAH spoke to us through HIS last MESSENGER OF MERCY MUHAMMAD PEACE BE UPON HIM, who verifies the PROPHET HOOD, THE RELIGION and THE PROPHECIES brought by ALL those previous true PROPHETS of GOD (ALLAH ALMIGHTY ALONE).

My point, ISLAM being the only purest to survive is now under attack by the forces of evil, majorly by those who have nothing to do with even Christianity, but are some fanatics seeking world domination. So in this extreme matter of disaster and decline of human and moral values when everything about humanity, morality, GOD, religion all has been forgotten and people are upto only sex, money, power, lust, and towards the enmity of GOD, MORAL VALUES, HUMANITY, BASIC RIGHTS of each other, there indeed is the time for the REFORMATION OF THE TRUE RELIGION OF GOD (ALLAH, ALMIGHTY).

We see everyday on TV's so much bullshit about ISLAM, see what others are doing, Christians forgetting the religion completely, those who have some knowledge of a little of it are being played again in the hands of jews, who is following Jesus ? none but following the footsteps of Judas, see what they have on their record of hisltory, centuries of crusades etc and you think they have completed their faith ?

No, yes it will be the same times, Jesus will come back, Muslim's Mehdi will be here, PROPHECY in True Christianty, VERIFED by PROPHET MUHAMMAD, and then the forces of ALLAH will do what they have to do with the forces of Anti Christ, and yes it will be the true REFORMATION OF THE TRUE RELIGION OF GOD.
