Okay so I am a junior in high school and I was thinking about getting my lip pierced. I want it on the side though. I don't know whether I should do left or right. Does it make a difference or have any specific meaning? Does it hurt? Will it take up my whole face? I just want a little diamond stud. I'm not like a goth or anything, I've blonde hair and I'm popular. I just want a little blingage. I sound so lame haha. Anyways please helppp.

One of my best friend is a dermatology resident, and do you know how many people she sees in the hospital with nasty infections from piercings. Don't do it anywhere near your mouth or nose!!!

Let the idea sit for a while to make sure you really want it..
But I say go for it..you have to be careful with the school though to make sure they allow piercings..don't get it a week before school starts and then decide you want to put a retainer in it because your school doesn't allow piercings. That will not work.
Different people take pain differently...I went in expecting it to hurt, because well, it is a NEEDLE going through your lip..but it really wasn't bad and i had NO problems healing it. Just take care of it.
It doesn't have any certain meaning like 'gay' or 'straight' or an of that BS. No piercings do.
It doesn't matter if you're popular or goth or whatever you should do what you want and not worry what other people will think of you. I think if you get this done you'll find out who your true friends really are.

Either side it does not matter or have any meaning. I have 2 piercings on the left side, which I wear small silver studs in. No it doesnt hurt very much compared to some other facial piercings but eating afterwards is painful for a little while.

I think it would be cute with a little diamond. It wont take up your whole face and it doesn't really hurt that bad (just for a second) If you decide you don't like it, just take it out. It wont leave a bad scar at all (mine you cant even see.) You might as well get it done now while your young, because once you graduate you might have to take it out depending on your career.

What does blonde hair and being popular have to do with getting a piercing anyway?

Do it if you think you'll want it for a while. Wait til you get into college or something, you'll definitely know if you want it or not.

im 13 and i did mine myself with a 16 ga needle and clamps

it doesnt hurt since all you feel are the clamps

right if gay left it straight do the left. (idk just heard that from people)

it will bleed and you have to keep the jewelry in for 8 weeks (or i cheated and kept it on only for the first 3 days but took it out during the day had it in at night to hide from my dad)

but your gonna have to tell your parents..trust me its a lot better. They cant make you get rid of it after it heals hehehe

I vote no on the lip piercings. You could damage lips to the point of not feeling the kisses you're sure to receive as a popular girl.

Don't do it!!

If you don't want to spend your life flipping burgers at Micky D's, you don't want to put stuff on your face that looks UNPROFESSIONAL!!!!

If I were interviewing someone who had equal qualifications with another person, and one had a facial piercing or facial tattoo, and the other didn't, the one without the facial piercing or tattoo would get the job.

Don't do anything that can't be undone, and don't get a tattoo that CAN'T be covered.

Dont do it! You'll live to regret it. Imagine yourself with a lip ring at age 80! If you want "blingage" wear flashy earings or something.

That scar will be on your lip long after you decide you're too mature for blingage. I vote no.
