I always belived in God but don't go to church regulalry .Any suggestions on how to feel closer to God or how to feel inner peace through religion
Are there any websites out there that I could check out
I just want to have a little more faith

Jesus said that you are either for Him or against Him. If you want to have more faith, go to Him in prayer and ask Him for it. Also ask Him to give you a great desire to read His word. I went to Him and gave Him free reign with my life...I have never been happier. He gave me new life and filled me with good things that I previously only looked for in this world. See Gal. 5:22, 23.
If you have streaming video capability you can watch www.3abn.org You can view Bible studies (streaming video or written) under the free stuff prompt at www.amazingfacts.org that will get you interested in studying the Bible for yourself. In His word and by His Spirit you will find faith.

How do I tell people that I goolged God, what will they think. I hope they know what google means.
The number of result were infinite, just kidding.
A number of years ago I decided that I would consciously be happy, not fake, real.
It worked. People at work would say "How is it you are so happy all the time". I would ask, " What are my choices?".
How about you choose to concsiously be closer to God?
I don't know??? But I think I do that too.
Since I was little ( say age 5 ), I have always thought about God.
So the question is too close to who and what I am.

Volunteer in the church. Become a usher or volenteer to rake the leaves. I'm sure there are a lot of older seniors in the church that could use your help for even a small part of the day. Eg. You could drive them to the store and do their grocery shopping with them. God will bless you for your kindness.

Glad to hear that you are seeking God, although I don't think your goal should be to "feel closer to God" or to "feel inner peace." I would suggest that you start by reading the Gospel of John in the New Testament. Contact me personally if you have any further questions.

First of all I'm not a minister but am also 46. And a christian
believer. I will share with you what has changed my life, but
unfortunately I can't possibly explain it all!
First you need a Bible!(king james version)
Then you need to turn to Romans 10:9&10 Then read it, if you
believe it do exactly what it says! Then you are saved! Born-
again! You now have God's holy spirit in you. Now you will
be able to allow God to work in your heart.
Some of the Bible can be hard to understand but most verses explain themselves. You can go to Book stores and
libraries to get more books to help you understand!
But this is the first step to being apart of God's plan and
he loves all men and desires for all men to come unto the
truth. However one must understand who he is and his son
Jesus Christ.
Just start reading the Bible. God will help you as you go.
For one of my favorite verses is Proverbs 3:5&6
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine
own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he
shall direct thy paths.
What a great verse to memorize and I hope I've helped you!

Start by finding a place of worship.It may take some time to find the right place but its worth it.If youre not into getting up on Sunday morning find a place that has evening services.Just go.Make it a habit.You will feel better.Take it slow.Find some books to read.Pray.Make it a habit.You will feel better.

Read and study the bible and go to a bible believing church . You will grow . Romans 10:17 " So then faith cometh by hearing ,hearing by the word of God ".

Feel Him through music. Check out, Jeremy Camp, Third Day, Todd Agnew, Casting Crowns. You can learn a lot about yourself spiritually through music. Take care.

Faith cometh by hearing..and Hearing THE WORD of GOD !!
The way one is to get Close to God is by Praying and spending time with GOD..in studying His Word and talking to HIM....
One must first believe He is....and accept Him as He is...and not what we want Him to be...........
READ HIS WORD..talk to HIM just as you talk to yourself or others..and if your Heart is sincere......He Will Answer.....and you will Hear.........
Faith is the substance of things Hoped for..the evidence of things not seen !!
Be patient Read / Study / Pray / Ask / Seek / Knock...and you will find HIM !!

You need to identify in what you want to have more faith. I trust that you want more faith in the God of the Bible, the one true God. Tell Him in prayer what exactly you want and look for Him to work in your life. Pray for a willingness to have His will happening in your life.
