I started keeping my dogs in the garage overnight but when I check on them in the morning my garage is "re-arranged". They chew stuff of the shelves and tear it apart. They have dog door and can go out anytime. I was gonna start putting muzzles on them overnight but I am not sure if it is safe to keep them on overnight unattended. Does it affect their breathing or anything like that? Thanks for help

NO it is NOT safe. Try a crate instead.

NO, it's not safe to muzzle them all night without supervising them.. Muzzles are for only short periods of time, when you are right there.. If you have a problem with your dogs in the house?? And you can't leave them in the garage without getting bored and rearranging things.. You should crate them in the house.. Or find them a new home..

A muzzle should only be used under supervision and then for no more than 30 minutes at a time. It would be better to invest in crates if the destructive habits are that severe. Putting a dog in a crate is no worse than putting a human baby in a playpen or crib. The idea is to keep the dog safe when you are not available to monitor and correct him.

Are your dogs puppies? If so, then they'll likely out grow this destructive chewing, but you have to correct them when they do it, not later. Puppies need consistent supervision and rules.

NO NO NO!!!! A muzzle should never be left on ANY dog unattended. Most dogs will get them off and eat them, they can affect breathing and it is just a really bad idea. Read the packaging for a muzzle it says it right on it "Do not leave muzzle on dog while unsupervised". Crate train them or dog proof your garage.

Muzzles are not ok to leave on overnight EVER! They are specifically ment to keep a dog from biting. Instead of locking your dogs in the garage, get dog crates, and crate train them. NEVER muzzle them overnight.

NO do not muzzle them. Why are they in the garage? They probably want to be with you and have nothing better to do than chew on stuff.
I prefer to crate dogs to prevent destructive behavior if they must be unattended.

Absoutly NOT, muzzles are to be used with supervision and are intended for keeping a dog from bitting, not tearing stuff up. Put you dogs in crates at night, and that will keep them out of trouble.

Do NOT keep a dog muzzled for any time period for which you will not be with them to hear or see that they are having a problem.

Muzzles should not be used as a full-time device to ensure your pets' good behavior. They should not be used for long periods at all.

It doesn't sound like you have trained your dogs much, if at all... Are you paying any attention to them - like walking them at least once a day?

They sound very bored to me. I have had big dogs and when trained properly, walked frequently, and given an opportunity to keep their mind active with games (frisbee, ball, whatever...) rather than just using their mouths for destructive purposes to have something to do, they have been great dogs!

Very curious about the home situation...

NO NO NO
Muzzles are only to be used while hte dog is under direct supervision not overnight.
And NEVER while alone.

Get a crate and crate train them for their own safety.

Muzzles are not safe to leave on an unattended dog, mainly because if they vomit, they will suffocate.
