Um...surgery eh? Well, what are talking about here? Is it absolutely necessary surgery or is it something that can wait?
I have Spina Bifida. I have had over 20 surgeries....I lost count long time ago. Anyways, surgery is never a "good" thing. Meaning, its not good something is wrong with someone bad enough that it requires surgery to fix it. That is never good. Is it unfortunately necessary sometimes? Absolutely. Most, if not all my surgeries were top priority surgeries...like i got the test results back and surgery was scheduled for by the end of the week type deal. I have had quite a few surgeries that were life saving surgeries.
With that being said, surgery is a very hard thing to go through. Its very hard on your body, its a trauma. It also disrupts your routine that you have. Which you still must try to keep to some degree and also try to catch up all while trying to heal. So its definitely bad. However, having things rough is a lot better then being dead if you ask me!

What type of surgery are you talking about? Would you care to elaborate?
Many surgeries are detrimental, meaning that they are medically necessary. If one's life is at stake, then one has the surgery. If a women is pregnant and there is fetal/maternal distress, then an emergency c/section is done. In those cases, they are obviously beneficial to all.
If it's done purely for cosmetic reasons and nothing else, well, it's obviously not something necessary, and to be put under anesthesia for unnecessary reasons is taking an unnecessary risk. However, many people do so.
If it's sterilization, it's fine if the person has had a child or two already, or the woman has a medical condition in which giving birth could be dangerous to her. Teens shouldn't undergo such procedures because they are way too young to even fathom such a decision.
So, it all depends on the circumstances. Oh, and my daughter was born with a cleft lip/palate. She's 5 years old now, has had 7 surgeries so far, with many more to come. In her case, it's all beneficial, naturally.

It depends on the kind of surgery. Some surgery is necessary no matter what the age in order for a person to survive....
Now if you're talking about plastic surgery....I think that it's a bad idea for a teenager to subject her growing body to that kind of trama. A teenager is still growing so their body isn't fully formed and developed. A person grows until the age of 21-25....I didn't have boobs until I was 20-something...if I would have had surgery before than I could have effected my natural anatomy. (by the way...it's perfect now)
Surgery is always a serious thing.... It can cause injury, disability and even death in some cases. I would never elect to have my body invaded for something that wasn't necessary.

totally depends on the surgery....if there are health reasons that you can benefit from then yeah....but if its cosmetic than wait until your an adult simply because your body is not done growing.
