my lil sis is terrified of lightning and
it's lightning and she's freaking out
and cryin and screaming!!

start a game with her that she loves - it will soon past and not only will your headache fade aways but she will calm down and shut up

It's natural for people to have phobias I have the same thing and I am 47. Though I don't scream and cry I have panic attacks and they are no fun. I wont stand any where near an open window. Try bringing your sis into the bath room or into a room where there are very few windows or into a hallway where there are none. Even a walk in closet may help for now. Turn the T.V. up louder may help or play a game with her, make it her fav. Good luck and be patient right now she wants your love and understanding because your her big sister and she's just a lil girl. =)

Every kid in our family from grandma on down, has heard the story that the Thunder tells all the squirrels, birds, rabbits, deer, etc that it is going to rain and storm and the lightening is to give them light so they can see their way home. It worked on my mother, me, all cousins, and all our children.
