Will my R A pain and swelling come back when I wean off of steroids?

I have been on dexamethazone since June and want to stop taking steroids, they are terrible. What can I do if the pain and swelling comes back, or is there a good chance it wont come back for a while?

Steroid rebound, is what occurs when you stop taking steroids. In other words not only will it come back, but back with vengeance. I am surprised you were started on them and not on anti-inflammatory drugs or DMARs?
