Being called a "Jew"?

A lot of people for insults in my school call people Jews. They say "Shut up you Jew," or something like that. How is that an insult? What do they mean by that?

It's not an insult, but they're making it into one by using the word in a derogatory manner indicating that Jews are bad people.

Figures--behavior you'd expect from mindless teenagers....don't listen to them.

I know that some Jews call others Jews "Jew", as a kind of mocking. Like some blacks call other blacks the N-word.

In some circles, being called a Jew is an insult, because Jews are known for their intelligence, so it's like calling someone a nerdy brain... not something you are proud to be called in High School.

Its the same thing if you call someone "gay." Its to say that gay people are bad and dont want to be associated as one. Obviously someone in the school doesnt think too highly of Jews, and called someone a Jew meaning to be an insult and it caught on.

It s a resurgency of neo nazi skin head bullshi&, and is most likely just a bunch of wannabe toughguys who dont think they will ever be confronted by a jewish person . Kind of like the losers you see on jerry springer or the old geraldo rivera show. Thruth is the jews have a very elite para military force known as the massoud(sp?) they are tougher and more deadly than us seal teams. Jews are tough people, surviving the world's hatred for thousands of years, by the way every single one of the orginial christian church were all jews. Jewish researchers have brought about more cures for disease than ANY other ethnic group in the WORLD. So next time one of these losers say "your jewish" say " I wish" skinheads think they are christians, they are not, Jesus(Jeshua was his name) Jesus is the greek name) was a jew. I think they are calling the people cheap. I've heard the term to JEW someone down and it means to drive a hard bargain. Some people blame the death of Jesus Christ on the Jews so that might be a reference to that. If there are lots of muslims at your school they might be using the term like the n word.

Being called a Jew is nothing bad, but the way that some people use it can be derogatory. Like if someone said, Shut up you Jew.' I feel it's the same as if someone said, 'Shut up, you idiot.' It's sad how nasty people can still be.

Since Jews have had a lot of discrimination on them earlier in America and in the Halocaust, mabey that is where this stems from. Also, on South Park Erik Cartman calls his friend a Jew often as an insult. Mabey this is where they got it from. Who Knows, but it is a stupid thing to say.

They're calling you jewish...
Most people aren't that much against jews, but many people are. But even some people who don't really mean it call people "jew"
It's like how people say "f*g" or "*****t" like lets say someone is not against homosexuals at all, but as an insult to someone they just say "shut up you *****t." it can be insulting, but most people don't mean it.

the people saying tht are being racist, a Jew is simply a person of the Jewish faith and some one using Jew as an insult would be better off standing up and saying "I;m a stupid racist jerk."
