would you consult 1) an evangelist or 2) an atheist heart surgeon? [don't forget that most scientists believe in macro evolution, so their understanding of the heart is probably faulty too]

I'd go with the heart surgeon, of course.

This is a silly question.
Personally, I would see both- first of all, just because a doctor believes in whatever type of evolution, does not mean he is not adept in the area he specializes in- the two are seperate issues. Secondly, no matter how good the doctor, there is no one on the planet that is 100% knowledgeable about how the human body works and all of its intricacies and mysteries, whether he was Christian or athiest or Buddhist, believed in evolution or not, so on that note, regardless of the doctors beliefs, I would be limited.
To be honest with you, if I needed a heart transplant, I would seek out both, a good heart surgeon, no matter what he believed and a pastor or prayer warrior to pray with and for me and for my doctor- as God can use an atheist too!

If I knew I needed a new heart, I wouldn't need to consult either. I'd put myself on an organ transplant waiting list and pray.

There's only one answer that makes any sense to me. Heart surgeon.

if you need a new heart you might better let the surgeon do it. i don't think the evangelist would qualify for that.

A heart surgeon, regardless of religion.

Now, let's reverse the question. As far as the supernatural goes, would you consult:
Someone who absolutely does not believe in it, and hasn't studied it...OR...someone who has at least studied it extensively?
