Go to Nissan Dealer and they will give you an estimate of what it will take to make the engine light to stay off. Buy a Nissan shop manual and turn the screw slot on the side of the computer and clear the code your self by placing the computer into diagnostic then let the red and green flash thru all five modes of testing. Then turn the slot back to the original posistion. The red and green means 10's and units your computer is basic and has only a few codes you turn the slot back at the third flash to read the trouble code number 3 red flash and 6 green = 36 write the codes down they will repete 3 times. Then the next code this will keep flashing then turn the slot back red and green will flash 4 times them 5 times now if either you turn the key off or turn back the slot the computer will clear.... ECM is under the heater and ahead of the center consol on top of the transmission hump. what you need to see is facing the passengers side under that black plastic cover where the heater air comes out. Good luck

Very common question, here's my very common answer:
You don't have to spend an arm and a leg at the dealership to have the light turned out, you can find a local mechanic with a Snap-on scanner to do that for you for about half the price. Just don't go to Autozone or some place along those lines as they have no idea what they are doing.
As for disconnecting the battery that only worked on SOME pre-OBD vehicles.

A CEL means something is wrong with your car. Get your codes read at Autozone, it could be something as easy as replacing a gas cap or as involved as replacing a PCV valve..
Getting the CEL turned "off" doesn't fix the problem. Be responsible, get it checked, fix it properly. Don't settle for a "quick fix."
