My 4 year old has talked incessantly for months about wanting a guitar and to learn how to play a guitar. I've been shopping around for children's guitars for Christmas and have found several that all are recommended for kids six and up. She's only 4..

Do you think she's too young for a guitar? Should I get her one and let her try it? I would really like for her to learn how to play it because she's a very musical child- she loves to dance and sing, etc., but I'm afraid starting her too early when she's not able to understand will make her decide later on not to try anymore.

Get her one to play with, not one for learning on. Just being a child and playing with one and learning how to have fun with it as it is will help encourage a longer lasting enjoyment of the instrument.

Only show her how to play it when she is asking, and dont make it a chore or a sit down time. Only when she wants and for how ever long she wants.

My husband plays guitar, and we have 2 children 10, 4, the 4 year old is female and both play..with her being 4 we started her out with an acoustic guitar and payed very little for it at a flea market.. if she shows interest then please let her. even if she loses interest in it later it still allowed her to open herself up to new things.. and you can always sell it on eBay if need to

I'm a male and I suppose sixteen-18 is simply too younger however 19-21 is not so much bigger. People do not notice at that age all of the matters and alterations that comes a character's manner down the street. People difference and they'll meet 1 extra individuals in lifestyles. I suppose past due 20's maybe nice.

Go ahead and let her try. For a lot of instruments the younger you start the easier it is to learn, even at 4. And even if she can't learn how to play she will most likely have some fun experimenting if she's a musical person.

At 4 she may be too young to hold the guitar properly or to push the strings down for the chords.. However, I would suggest at the very least letting her try it out if she has an interest in music...

I am looking for a guitar for my daughter online, and having a lot of difficulty, because I am directed to US urls. Do you have any URLs of companies in Canada that sell guitars?

Start children early in music, 4 years is perfect!

I say go for it. She may surprise you. Plus the ages on the box are probably just generalized, as every child is different.

I don't think she is too young. If she wants to explore that I would let her. If you can handle the noise then more power to. Keep letting her pursue it.
