Yes, it is. But it's funny that I bet a lot of young people who have seen me, maybe at the Ethical Society or something, 60 years old, morbidly obese, creaky joints, walking with a cane, terrible teeth, gray taking over my hair, etc., etc., I bet a lot of youngsters cannot understand why I say I basically enjoy my life. Sure, I get down at times, but I have a lot of lovely books, a very large and quite excellent DVD collection, and this here computer. I have a lot of experience, including dealing with some big time troubles, and I've had a good education, was lucky enough to have a job for 16 years that I liked so well I actually looked forward to Monday morning, and I haven't succumbed to Old Timers' Disease yet. I have few friends, but they are good ones, I live in an interesting town (University City, "suburb" of St. Louis, Missouri), have a nice apartment which even includes air conditioning, and you know, it's enough nicer than I thought I would have back when I was young and reasonably healthy. Besides, I figure there's still things I can do to be worth the space I take up and the food and water and air I use. Maybe even help some of those youngsters to avoid making the same dumb mistakes I did.
