The End World, or Civilization Shift prediction by the Mayan civilization is, probably one of the most known predictions to date.
Will it happen? Most likely not, the planet itself is not showing enough activity for such an event, be it volcanic activity, an asteroid or mass disease, there's not much evidence at this current time to support such an event.
All I can say, from a scientific standpoint is simply this..
If civilization and/or the world was going to come to an end, it would have happened already.
It takes millions, if not billions of years for such an event to take place, I highly doubt anything will happen on the year 2012.
Also, the Mayan calendar ended around the same time they're civilization began to die off, coincidence?
Think about it.
If this is bothering you, don't worry about it, I'm positive nothing will happen.

No, I think that Quetzecoatl will be born in human form on December 12, 2012. It will be the dawning of a new era for this global village called Earth, hopefully.

The mayans seem to think so or that's the interpretation of why their calendar ended in 2012. Who knows, maybe they got tired of chizling and had something else to do. We may be wiped off but Earth will continue to spin.

no. i member watching montel and sylvia brown was on and she said it would in 75 years. but i dont eblieve that. then theres some book called 20... something maybe 2012. im not sure. saying the world will end
