Shame on all of you for saying such rude things about the South...For your information,,a lot of great writers and artists as well as intellectuals,,,have come from the South...and not a single one of you who mock and poke fun at the South are being built up, by putting us down...it says a whole lot more about you than it does the South..
Our Mama's taught us how to be hospitable and have respect for others. A job, apparently your Mama didn't do.

A Christian is a Christian. A Christian is one who follows Jesus Christ. They may be a little more or less liberal or Conservative but they believe in the same things. Peace

I have no clue. I was not alive then and have not done research.
NOW, though, we are polite, for the most part, and we don't generalize and attack those whose beliefs differ from ours. We bend over backwards to be gracious.

As you can see above, all of these people are not from the south and you can also see ignorance is abundant in other parts of the USA.
