How long do you think it will take for the writers to get what they deserve and quit striking? Has any progress been made? Any info would be nice. THANX.

The producers/studios are not really negotiating. They are trying to bust the union last I knew. It's really unfair, the writers are the creators of everything we watch on TV and they get the least money.I hope it ends soon. It seems very one sided and unfair. The writers just want to be paid for what they create. I don't see why that is a problem.

I'm wondering with youtube and the like (I mean look at It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia) if they won't just be replaced. There have got to be some talented unemployed, undiscovered writers out there who would be willing to take a job out-of-union. I really don't know who's right in all this, but unions have sort of had their day and outlived their usefulness. They've just become their own corporations with the same corruption and underhandedness that they were created to protect against. Maybe this is just what TV needs to get some fresh views.

But I definitely think it will last until past the new year. If the networks were going to give in before, they would do it now before they're hurt. They're not really going to be hurting until after that.

The last strike in 1988 lasted nearly six months. It depends on how desperate Hollywood bigwigs are to avoid that kind of hit again.

I don't think it'll happen until next year. I seen on the news the way, only late night shows and that will be affected until 2008 when the primetime shows run out episodes to air. I don't think the networks or whoever needs to pay the writers will do anything about it, until their big money shows run into trouble.

They need to sort it out now, as in today. It could get way out of hand. They seem to be forgetting that without those writers, none of their shows would be as big as they are. there would be nothing to watch without them.

Personally ... there is nothing worth watching on Prime Time TV ... so for me ... however long that the strikes last is no big deal ... the shows are poor anyway!
