Well sometimes you just ahve to say no. I know this girl that wishes she would have said no to her daughter years ago. Now her dauther is 12 years old and 220 pounds. You need to start a healthy snacks list so that they know what kinds of foods they can and cannot have. Hope I helped. My daugher really enjoys her list I gave her. It has things like kiwi(one of her favorites), peanuts(she eats about half a cup before dinner and gets fuller that way), salad with vinagrette dressing(very healthy), and another of her favorites is celery tomatoes and onions mixed with vinager a teaspoon of oil and a few spices.

As long as they have the ability to burn off the caloric intake there's not a problem. Eggs and ham have great protein. You really shouldn't be to full when you go to bed, you don't sleep as well. Make sure they have a well balanced breakfast more than anything else. And there's nothing wrong with gaining weight at the age of 7, she will lose it if she stays active enough when puberty hits. And as for you dear mother, English for Dumbies she be put on your shopping list.

If your children are not overweight, or bordering on being overweight, then feed them if they say they are hungry. Even if they end up eating 2 suppers, so long as both those meals are well proportioned and well balanced, there isn't a problem. Often, when children are growing, they need up to 6 meals a day to get enough calories for growth. Your children seem very active. Don't worry so much about them getting fat. You may end up giving that poor girl an eating disorder if you are constantly concerned with everything she eats.

One tip though: Don't become a short order cook. Make one meal, and if that isn't what they want to eat, then they must not be as hungry as they claim to be.

Just pick a health snack and tell your kids if they are hungry they are welcome to eat the snack. If your daughter throws a fit simply say that if she is hungry she needs to eat the snack otherwise she can wait until breakfast. If she is really hungry then she will eat what you offer. Just make sure she is eating enough during the day due to the fact that she seems to be active.

Make a list of things you usually buy. Have her decorate a chart and make her check off the things she has eaten. make sure to check the chart if she has eaten enough vitamins and protein etc and if she does what she is suppose to do, give her a reward for each 5 days she does.
