I have been diagnosed with OCD and depression. Query Psychosis, Schizophrenia, Bipolar, ADD. What I'm having the most trouble with is the OCD. I have tried Aropax (Paroxetine/Paxil),Luvox(Fluvoxamine), Zoloft (Sertraline) and Clomipramine (Anafranil), which I'm still on at the moment. I've been on it for a month. I have taken anti-psychotics to augment with such as Zyprexa and Seroquel. I have been on over 20 different prescription drugs and I am deteriorating very very fast. My Mum has just kicked me out, I've got no job, no car, no where to go. My psychiatrist is arrogant and said he wasn't bothered about Clomipramine causing Hypomania. He won't put me on anything else except for Anafranil, Quetiapine, and Oxazepam. My qyestion is:
What other drugs can I try? What else can I augment with? Combinations of drugs? I just can't do this anymore. Its never ending. Please can someone reply ASAP. And if there are any nurses or doctors in the house, please consider answering my question.

Who in hell is paying this idiot to dump you on every med in the first place? And when he finally has you totally hooked on this Molotov cocktail , that will not only turn you into a drooling zombie, what next?? If you were any wheres near as bad as you say, you would be unable to compose the question in the first place.
Now, as to Obsessive Compulsive disorder, you apparently know what the compulsion is, That's the first step, Now it's up to you to work on controlling it. write down in a journal what it is and then work on figuring out what it will take to train yourself not to do it. It's up to you, it's your life, , but I will tell you, that knocking yourself in to la la land is not going to fix it. I do not care what freaking degree this idiot has, You need to take control of yourself.

Change doctors. Sounds like you need someone who cares.

Get OFF all the psycho drugs. They do not help in the long run. They will only accelerate the changes in your brain sturctures.

You need to work at getting better. Its not a matter of taking drugs to be cured. It doesn't work that way.

I know because I'm a lost cause . Have given up on SSRI drugs. And most other pharmacuticles cause me too many problems.

Try some herbal remidies. Varerian really helps me. Many herbs are helpful.

Find a good Spritual Leader person to talk things over with. A listening person, not a dogmatic preacher type. A Healer.

Find the rituals you can do (OCD actions) without disrupting your daily needs. Maybe put your enegy into a mala/rosary, or a 'worry stone' type of thing.

Take control yourself, don't give away control to substances. Find the herb that works and use it.

Any chance you can get a new psychiatrist, and maybe a therapist to discuss some of your problems with?

That sounds like an awful lot of drugs to be taking at once, and you've tried an awful lot of them. How long were you on each of these? The only one I have personal experience with is Zoloft, and that usually takes 4 to 6 weeks just to START having an effect, and if it doesn't work after that, it's possible to up the dose in order to achieve the right balance. Did your doctor try that with you, or has he/she been just switching you if something doesn't have immediate results?

I'm sure the "activation time" varies from one drug to another.
One thing you might try is doing some research of your own about medications. There are various websites that would give you information about which drugs help with what problem, and how long it takes to have the desired effects. Armed with this information, you could discuss your medication with your current doctor, or with a new doctor. Some websites you could start with are:

http://www.drugs.com
http://www.WebMD.com
http://www.mayoclinic.com

Good luck! I'll pray for you.

In addition to your medicine, try some diet & fitness changes.
Here are some good ideas:
1. Do something that gets your heart rate up a bit like, walking, running, biking, and swimming.
2. Eat Whole, Organic foods like: Broccoli, Cabbage, Organic Brown Rice, Beans, Spinach, Sweet Potato, Apples, and other fruits and vegetables in their Natural State.
3. Avoid eating corn, white bread, white rice, candy, sodas, chips, and anything else that you already know you shouldn’t be eating.
4. Drink clean water as your beverage of choice. Avoid Fruit drinks and fruit juices (unless YOU juice them yourself)
5. Stop smoking, drinking beer & wine, and drinking coffee.
6. Get 8 hours of sleep each night.
7. Hang out with people who want to be healthy.
8. Avoid anything with High Fructose Corn Syrup.

Tone up the muscles:

1. Join a gym and get a trainer.
2. If you’re short on cash, start a light stretching & yoga regimen.
3. Do push-ups, and light dumbbell curls for the upper body.
4. As I said above, walk, run, swim, and or bike
5. Take an aerobics class, a yoga class, or some other fitness class.
6. Join the local YMCA..

Mental Health:

1. Get a friend to talk to each day about your feelings.
2. If you have some money or insurance, get a counselor to talk to.
3. Learn how to meditate.
4. Join a support group for the issue you’re dealing with.
5. Ask your Higher Self (or God) for guidance.
6. Start keeping a diary or journal about your feelings & thoughts.
7. Write a ‘gratitude’ list every night.
8. Do something that makes you happy each day like: listen to your favorite music, draw, paint, write, or anything creative.
9. Do something for someone else who needs help.

Check yourself into a detox for evaluation, or check yourself into a mental health hospital for help. You gotta start over and be under care of a knowledgeable physician and psychiatrist. Why did Mum kick you out? Tell them why when you check into the hospital. Diet and excercise do play a huge role in good mental health, but you gotta do something about your prescription medication first.

Jesus H Christ.
Have you considered diet and exercise?
I'm serious. Kind of. So many drugs can't be good for you. What if you hit a lethal combination?
Maybe meditation and positive thinking? What the hell do I know, I'm not a doctor...
Sorry for you.
