I am going to the doctors tomorrow because I have flat but a little lumpy dots on my cleavage and I've had it for months now. My mom is coming in the room with me and it is really embarrassing!!!

The doctor will have to visually examine the area. He will probably ask some routine questions like when you first noticed the dots, have they changed in size or appearance, do they cause you any discomfort (pain, itching, etc). He may run some blood work if the appearance alone does not provide an obvious diagnosis. Some "dots" can look the same but signify several different diagnoses. However, if the dots are exclusive to one diagnosis, then more than a visual exam may not be necessary.

If the area is totally visible without removing your bra, you will not have to do that.

If you are a teen, you do have the right to request that your mom leave the room...the doctor will then have a nurse or assistant present.

Be kind though and be honest with your mom. Talk to your mom before the appointment and tell her that you are not a little child anymore so it will be embarrassing to have her present. If she is understanding, she will not go into the room with you.
