Do you enjoy it when they are "witnessing" to you, trying to disprove your beliefs?
Food for thought.

I'm really pleased to hear, coquina, that you want to witness to your LDS/Mormon friends. I'm glad that you want to share with them how awesome God is and about the love God has for you. I suspect that your Mormon friend has already told you that he believes the same thing - God is wonderful, God is great, and God is love.
It will be impossible to show a well-versed Mormon any scriptures from the Bible that disprove the Mormon church. Mormons can explain every scripture in the Bible to support what they believe! Even the scriptures that the others who have attempted to answer your quesion have suggested - the Mormons can explain them all in a way that sounds like it just proves what they believe.
So, what to do? I suggest that you read their Book of Mormon, carefully, from cover to cover. Try to read it with an open mind - is it possible that this could be true? Is there a way to interpret the Bible to be in harmony with the Book of Mormon? Have a sincere heart, ponder what you read in your heart, and read with real intent. Exercise faith in Jesus Christ that he will manifest the truth or falsity of what you are reading. Then pray to God, in the name of Christ, if these things are true.
I promise you that God will hear and answer your prayer. Then go to your Mormon friend and tell him what God has told you. That would be an awesome witness to your Mormon friend.
May your journey be fruitful.

Well first of all ask them to stop if you are uncomfortable with it. Tell them that you would be willing to have a non-conversion based religious discussion about both of your beliefs, so that you can each learn more about the other person's faith. Tell them that you will not argue- or try to convert them as long as they show you the same respect. That should help them and you both in your need to educate the other about religion. Don't try to tell them that they are wrong, and they should not tell you that you are wrong- just discuss what you believe and why. You will each get a lot further doing that, than anything else.
You probably won't have much luck because most LDS people are very firm and set in our beliefs. It is tough to sway us.
Edit**
LDS are Christian. We belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. We believe in Christ, that he was born of Mary, just as the account in the Bible states- he lived and fulfilled a great many miracles and remain perfect and unspotted from the world during his ministry. We believe that he died on the cross, so that we all could recieve salvation, and then he rose again on the third day to enable us all to be able to live again. Maybe ask your LDS friend if you can see the DVD "Finding Faith in Christ" or "The Lamb of God".

Most mormons like to use their testimony, "I would kile to bear my testimony , that Joseph smith translated ect." so you do the same...say something like , well I would like to testify that God used me...or I had a dream from God or God spoke to me today about, everytime God does something in your life, testify to the mormon and lead by example. You can use the websites, but if they realize you got it off of a nonmormon or antimormon website, their persecution mania kicks in, so be really careful about that.
Anti-mormon sites: Here's a few that I use:

www.sainstalive.com this site is kind of out there, but I think it contains info on how to witness to mormons.

There is no "proof" from the Bible. One big reason I joined teh LDS church is because o the Bible.
so, you can recite Bible verses all you want, but it all comes down to who's interpreting what how.
Get three Christians together on a Bible verse and you get five different interpretations,

It is beneficial to all believers to actually seek out and learn the beliefs of all of the other religions. There is no way to speak intelligently about a subject you have not sought to understand. Get the book of Mormon. Read it. Be solid in your own doctine. Relying on others will only lend to you expressing their thoughts and beliefs, not your own. That's a pretty slippery slope in my opinion.

The name of the church is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Most LDS members are well aware of the love of God and are also well aware that Jesus Christ is necessary for salvation. Was there something else you wanted to witness?

There is absolutely no way that you can disprove our faith using the Bible. Our faith only proves the Bible to be true.

LDS people believe in the Bible. If you are uncomfortable having your friend witness to you then ask him/her to stop. Chances are they will, because most LDS people won't force there religion on you if you don't want to hear it. Good luck.

i think it might be pointless to "witness", but i am sure your friend would love to have a religious discussion.
the thing is, we already read the bible and believe in christ. we may believe differently than most on some things, but the essentials are there.
also, i reported peter for making himself look stupid.
take care!

KJ Holy Bible
2 Corinthians 11:4
For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.
Galatians 1:7
Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
Galatians 1:8-9
But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
OK..you can give me the thumbs down...but this is the word of God you are Denying.
