why does God abandon us?
let's put it this way, up to this point I have been very religious in my life. Always had faith in God, always thought that he'd at least give a sh!t about giving a shyt about me. but nothing. And now, you know what, i am done with religion. I am probably going to to to hell but u kn what I will go with a smile on my face and at least know that I am not responsible for causing misery to millions of people and never listening to any prayers. God, Jesus, mohammed, Allah, ... w.e you believe in; they may exist and they probably do but one fact is constant they have screwed over millions of people and are NOT just. I can't believe it took me 20 years to realize this basic simple concept.

without suffering we would never be able to truly feel, know and recognize God's amazing, unending love. please know that i am sincerely praying for you, for your soul, that your hurt is healed. i am not going to tell you that evil has your heart or that you're going to hell. i truly believe you are one of God's children, only going through a rough patch. we all go through them. i will pray for you with all i've got.

you say it took you 20 years to realize the simple concept that God is not just. it took me about 10 years to realize that God is here, everywhere, loves you and wants you to draw nearer to him. i will say my hardest deepest prayer for you. i am doing this because i sincerely feel your pain right now. i've been to the deepest depths, ready to end it all, and God brought me back. for that, i am eternally grateful. i will message you if i feel i need to say more. feel free to message me. God bless you. God truly loves you.

It's a difficult thing, no question. Every believer I know who isn't just play-acting has gone through at least one period of feeling abandoned by God. Even Christ went through that. It does change the nature of your faith.

The real question is, why did you become a believer in the first place? Did you believe because you thought it was true or - and please forgive me, but I can't think of a less blunt way to put it - did you become a believer in the hopes of getting something out of it? It's my considered opinion that one should seek the truth, regardless of what will or won't happen as a result. If the reasons you first believed are still valid, then I'd say stick with it even through the drought. If your first reasons are no longer valid, then re-assessing them is probably a very good idea.

Pal…
If it took you 20 years to get frustrated…
Remember that Noah spent 950 years calling for God but faced only rejection from his people…
Remember that Moses, Jesus, and Mohammed all faced hardship, agony and harm…and still managed to deliver the massage of God…
Remember that God, while capable into creating the universe in an eye blink, created the universe in six days…Why???
So you may learn the virtue of patience…
It is fire that moulds the iron

If you are truthful God will guide you…just do not stop looking for him…

If that's what's going on with you, you might find the discussion forum I posted below helpful. Mind you, I don't know what religion you're coming from, but if this one's not right for you, there's probably a different one that is.

Second of all, I'm a Pagan. I believe in Gods, not "God" as in the Judeo-Christian one. (Just to give you a background for my perspective.)

Now, I don't know what you expected from your God, but there are religious beliefs out there which do not regard the Gods as beings that necessarily step in and fix things for us, even when justice is involved. If the Gods were constantly meddling in human affairs, humans might not have as much free will as we like to think we have.

I don't know what has happened to make you feel abandoned, but I'm gonna guess that it's related to a philosophical problem called "the problem of evil." If you're up for it, I've included a link that really delves into it. "The problem of evil" is truly a difficult issue in religious philosophy, so you are certainly not alone in being frustrated with it.

He answers all prayers and sometimes he says "NO". It's all up to you and just maybe religion is not your way. But that does not mean one can stop being the good person they have always been. Peace

im sorry but God hasnt abandoned you. you were the one who probably abandoned him, if you would pray he will listen to your prayers he always does.he wouldnt leave the people he created and loved behind. hello. he sent his only son to die for OUR sins. like it says in the bible ask and you shall recieve. but just remember He always will love everyone the same even if they dont love him. look what he did for you. he definetly didnt abandon you. he gave you life your family and this earth. NOW RETHINK YOUR QUESTION. if not you will regret it when you spend eternity in the lake of fire and you wont get a second chance GODISLOVE.

I pray that God will soften your heart. Why are you so mad? Don't let evil get to you so you will conform with the world. Talk to God. He is always there.
