I need reasons why i should visit hawaii. Good reasons, not because of "hula dancing chicks" as my friend put it. please i would appreciate it. My reasons are: it has the famous Mouna Kea in it. Its culture is different from the other American states.

Because in one bicycle ride, you can see 13 different ecosystems.

Because red-hot lava flowing into the ocean is something every human should see before they die.

Because snorkeling with 50-year old sea turtles is an experience that most will never forget.

Because poi is hard to find anywhere else.

Because it's the only of our 50 states that is completely surrounded by water.

Because there's nowhere else to see a macadamia nut plantation.

Because you need to practice saying the name of the state fish (humuhumunukunukuapuaa)...And most of is landlubbers can't pronounce it right, so you'll need to find a local to help you out!

Visiting Hawaii is like visiting a South Pacific Island without having to travel as far or deal with a foreign country, if you're from the U.S.

And I just heard another reason to go today: Hawaii prohibits billboards!

I have been to Hawaii four times and plan to keep going. I wouldn't want to live there (I would get "island fever" -- the need to drive down some new road), but it is a wonderful place to visit. The best way to do it is to try to fit in and not look too much like a tourist. For example, I took my sister to Polehale Beach on Kauai, which is visited mainly by locals, but I've figured out how to find it. She was sure I was going to get lost or stuck in a sand dune. But we ended up on this huge stretch of beach with about three people and a dog. It was absolutely awesome.

I've also gone to the top of Mauna Kea. It was just about surreal. Same for finally making it to the top of Haleakala (on Maui) on a clear morning after days of socked-in weather (due to the season).

Do go. You'll love it!

To hear Hawaiian music played at hotel and to see beautiful rainbows after a tropical rainstorm, to be able to go in the ocean while it is raining, to eat King's Hawaiian bread, go fishing and eat raw opihi, go to the Nuuanu pali and look down, see the waterfalls on Kauai, eat at Patty's Kitchen in Ala Moana shopping center, go to Princess Bernice Bishop Museum, buy hanging duck in Chinese shop in Hotel Street, go to Kahala Hilton and the old Moana Hotel.
