you can think i'm a jerk...but you have not spend years contemplating me as i have spent contemplating god. your opinion on the matter is petty, underdeveloped, and useless....much like your faith.

I made my own religion, there are 3 people in it, we are the only ones that will Ascend to Eternity with Love. Everyone one else will burn in Hell. This is all true, it says so in the book that I wrote. Strategically capitalizing words adds dramatic effect and realness.

Note: I am a Christian (Catholic denomination).
1) This assumes only Christians go to heaven. Another question kind of touched on this: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20071105163527AAMdJqV&r=w&pa=FZptHWf.BGRX3OFMiDBWUO03JeeXp3Qr.ZB_2JlD6WGlTBZi5Cv5apX2P8mdntrCXTIKtYkTpiXOm2vgrg--&paid=answered#RZUvWmC4VDjMehwVQlQfjS7YYXgir0fWHc4XVpTLhO5BmBNU3IO_
I don't believe ONLY christians go to heaven - but I do believe that anyone who enters into heaven does so through Jesus in some way.
And even if only Christians go to heaven - which ones? While some are very similar, others are VERY different. Even amoung the same denomination, churches vary widely in beliefs. Part of this is the concept of democracy invading the church. People "voting" on the truth.
2) You assume that if #1 is true, that God WANTS the others to fail. He WANTS the others to go to Hell (or wherever). If he wanted 2/3 to fail, it wouldn't matter what we choose, he would just make us fail - so our religion wouldn't make a difference.
3) You assume that if God only wants Christians in heaven, then he is a jerk. This is also a falacy. If that is what he wants, then would you not be the 'jerk' for not choosing that option and then blaming him for your own free will choice? Again, if God created the world - then he gets to set the rules, doesn't he? Then if he decides that a certain religion (whatever that might be) is the correct one, then who are we to argue? The problem is that mankind likes to be the one to choose what is right. What?! i can't ? By golly I'll just change the religion! I can't divorce and remarry this hotty? then I'll change the religion. We want to argue, bargin and blame God. But the failure is in our own free will choices.

Think of the source.. all religions say the same thing "We are the right one, all others will go to hell because they are wrong". Fact is that all religions are wrong because they are man made. Religion uses fear and ignorance to control its followers, it was one of the first forms of social order humans had.. but because it is based on things that can not be proven it didn't evolve. So, they rule on high by fear, ignorance and the fact that most people do not want to think for themsleves (if they did, they would see that the whole religious version of everything makes no sence)

Was it necessary to ask this both ways....why does god only want to save 1/3...and...why does god want 2/3 to fail?
It's not that interesting of a question to ask again...is it?
Did you get such an overwhelming response the last time(6 answers), that you thought people who don't like the fraction 1/3 should get a chance to also answer?

No, 3/3 or everyone will fail. Since the God of Judaism, Islam, and Christianity are all the same, the Heretics all die and so do all the Infidels. All non-Christians are Heretics and all non-Muslims are Infidels so we're all doomed.

God currently has a 33% now, or in other words, an F. You'd think an omnipotent and omniscient being could create a better plan of salvation.

God does not want anyone to fail. He loves all of us and wants everyone to love Him.
You can think God is a "jerk" if you like.
You sound angry and full of hate. You've always sounded that way.
Let it go. All that anger and hate will kill you.
If a Christian had made a typo and put "got," you would be all over it, saying how dumb we are. But since YOU made the mistake, it's all ok. Hypocritical, huh?

For starters, the figure of people who are *really* born again is WAY smaller than 2 billion. There are many people who call themselves Christians who really aren't.
Second, God told us that "narrow is the way....that leads to life everlasting and few there be that find it." He knew that even if He offered us free forgiveness we are just too stubborn to accept it, for the most part. That reflects poorly on US, not on God. He is standing there with His arms wide open - it is up to us to step into them. Most people don't - some because they never hear about it (and that is the fault of Christians who won't witness) and many because they are too proud or too lazy to humble themselves and ask God to save them. Again, *our* fault, not God's. He gives us the choice; is He to blame when we reject Him?
You sound angry, friend. Let that go...it will only bring you down.

Apparently so.
I hypothesize one of two possibilities:
1) God does not exist.
2) God's an a**hole.

Since there is no reason to believe in the existence of any sort of god, the question is moot.
