stop using lip gloss
use a toothbrush on your lips and gently scrub away the chapping skin.
afterwards apply a balm and chapstick maybe and avoid licking them.
I personally love aveeno chapstick or softlips chapstick

You might be having an allergic reaction to one or more of the lip products that you are using. I had a problem with lip roughness, and I kept putting more and more stuff on them--first balms, then lip conditioners, then lipstick (colorless--I'm a guy) or even gloss. Nothing seemed to work.
Finally, I stopped everything except a little vaseline before bedtime. Within a couple of days, everything was back to normal. Then, I slowly re-introduced the lip products I had been using one at a time until I found the culprit--an "intensive therapy" lip conditioner. Life is now good in Lipland.
Good luck to you and your lips.

I can help! I use the Vita Plus Lip Treatment from Bee-Luscious. This has a lot of NATURAL products to cure chapped lips. Vaseline (petroleum jelly) is NOT natural and will actually damage your skin even more. The Vita Plus is NOT a balm it is a treatment. So it does not cover up it CURES!!!!!!

Put vaseline on them. Also try to keep putting on loads of chap-stick. If they continue to hurt, see your doctor.
