Why do some Fundie Christians get all hyped up about books/movies such as Harry Potter and the Chronicles of Narnia?

And yes, I have seen people get upset about the Chronicles of Narnia. Harry Potter, perhaps, but come on, its just a plush lion and some bad animation (well, before the new one came out)

"It’s the same old devil with a new face," - Rev. George Bender, who made Harry’s exploits part of the bonfire at a book-burning party he threw in rural Pennsylvania.

Burning books?! Remind you of something?

And yes, it is a scene from Indiana Jones.

But why moan about "witchcraft" or "talking lions" when the authors of these books are devout Christians, and the books have very strong Christian themes, particularly the cruxifiction of Jesus and the demise of Satan?

I know its not really important, but why do some people get agitated and start BURNING BOOKS?

Silly people! God is more present in Narnia than He is in some other "approved" books!

In Narnia, Jesus takes the form of a Lion. Talking lions?! Well that HAS to be blasphemous, right? WRONG. Jesus came in the form of a Talking Lion because the population of Narnia was Talking Beasts. Jesus/God becomes what is required of Him for the situation. Oh, and the White Witch! The book should DEFINITELY be banned and burned because of THAT character! Except that she was never portrayed as anything but evil. She is the representation of evil and Satan in the world of Narnia. As such, she is defeated by the resurrected Aslan.

So a representation of Jesus defeated a representation of Satan and people are up in arms? Silly people! They will make themselves like the Ape in The Last Battle!

From the words of CS Lewis:
“Supposing there really was a world like Narnia . . . and supposing Christ wanted to go into that world and save it (as He did ours) what might have happened?” he wrote.

“The stories are my answer. Since Narnia is a world of talking beasts, I thought he would become a talking beast there as he became a man here. I pictured him becoming a lion there because a) the lion is supposed to be the king of beasts; b) Christ is called ‘the lion of Judah’ in the Bible.”

Yeah i think of they are purely readying Christian for a run on uncooked or SD. He gets win after win via fact he merits it he's underrated if something. Christian has been donning ECW as of previous due and he's their applicable guy on that teach and thats why he would seem to 3 as "over hyped" even although i don't sense he's over hyped in any respect.

Of course Rev. Bender's book burning reminds me of the Nazis' Christian fundies are just as hateful to those who are not like them. If it is strange they will want to try to destroy it. If the fundies had their way we'd all be mindless robots wearing crosses and only reading the bible. It's time for people to wake up before these people try to turn U.S. into another Nazi Germany. Say no to tyrany!!!
