We all agree that Jesus died to save us from our sins so why can't we agree to get along without bashing each outhers understanding of the teachings. If you don't agree with them then don't go to church with them.

You have a good point, and even in the bible, there are not a lot of different demominations, there is only one universal church - from God's point of view, and the foundation for the church is believing that Jesus Christ was the son of God that died for our sins (Matthew 16:16 - based upon Peter's revelation of Jesus being the Christ, the son of God, the Lord said that He will build His church - for those who think the rock refers to Peter, in greek, the word rock is in feminine form Petra not Petros).

God's desire is for us to be one, this is what Jesus prayed for in John 17 before He went to the cross. This is why Paul was saddened by the Corinthian believers who said that they were of Paul or of Apollos or of Christ (implying that others were not).

On the one hand, we have the same foundation, and we should learn to deal with the fact that many differences of opinions in interpretation of scripture don't matter as much as our oneness.

However, if we stay in our human nature and have other priorities higher than God's desire for oneness, such as our self preferences that we are born with, then this oneness based on one common belief may not hold as strong.

So the deeper level of oneness, needs to be based on a spiritual oneness with Christ, which requires us to know His word according to His thinking, then we can be Christians who "think the same thing, having the same love, joined in soul, thinking the one thing" (Phil 2:2) through the Lord.

May the Lord gain more believers on the earth who will put aside their preferences for God's desire for us to be one in Him, not only in name, but in practicality and reality be being one with the Lord by the renewing of our mind (Eph 4:23) that we may think the same thing, love what God loves, be joined to Him (1 Cor 3:17), regardless of the difficulties we may encounter.

well becuse, catholics believe that Mary was holy and pray to her. when if they read the bible it clearly states she was just a woman who loved God.
And becuse they kind of abuse the rights and take money to make their church bigger, or have gold on the pulpit.
while we help churches in the inner city even though we have little money.
we give to the poor and and spend our time talking and spreading the word of jesus christ through small dinners.
not extreme gathering with big screen TVs and 2 million seated in an auditorium.
We are Lutheran's here WE stand!

Have you read the Lord's Prayer?

John 17
20 "My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, 21 that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. 22 I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one: 23 I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me."

He will bring it around. God will. He will answer the prayer of Jesus, and I think that will happen at the Second Coming. Until then, preach the Gospel, study, keep in close contact with God, and love each other. That's what we are supposed to do.

Trust God to fulfill the prayer that Jesus prayed.

we don't need them to agree, it really doesn't matter if you think about it.

What matters is that each of them bears good fruits in their lives.
Thats all there is to it. People waste time in these theological crap with all these arguements about who understands what part of which version of what bible, bleh.

because people require conflict in their otherwise boring lives. It adds spice, and feeling like they have proven their point gives them a sense of validation.

Even if it takes murder to prove their point, past times have shown that can be done too.

It's very sad, really.

A better question would be "How can we unite all people to agree that we are all humans, with our own wants, desires, and beliefs."

You cannot, because the FSM is the one true God (PBUHNA), and false religions cannot ever be truly united against Him.
