I'm a moderately wealthy American. I have about 150K in assets. Should I move to Ethiopia so that I will be very rich compared to everyone else?

You're welcome to come over any time, dude. But contrary to what you think...your wealth won' be noticed. There are people RICHER than you. Too many of them infact.
And another thing, with your stuck up attitude that's centered around money, you'd be a social outcast. People here SHARE whatever they can. Even in the poorest of homes, you will not leave without atleast having a cup of coffee.
So if it's flash you want try somewhere else ... coz you'd annoy a lot of people around here.

Why do you care how you are compared to everyone else?
I work with people from Ethiopia, and it is not an easy life there. That's why they came here.
If your motives are simply to look better in comparison with others, no, I would not recommend it. If your motives are to make a good life for yourself and your new community, to do things to better your new community, then go for it.
But remember that life there is different. It is a third world country with less of the comforts of life than you are used to here. Life is not a contest about who gets the most stuff or who looks the best in compared with his neighbors.
