If they did, they sure didn't have much in the way of belief or non-belief to begin with, so no great loss.

I've read Christian posts that said they were atheist but turned around. Pretty sure it was a lie. I've read some Christians say they became stronger. I've read some of these misguided delusions. Wouldn't surprise me.
However, my atheism has grown stronger as my knowledge increases.
To
Mel-No, atheists don't 'convert' anyone. They put forth information and it depends on how the person interprets it and whether they accept it or not that influences their thinking. It's still their decision and no one threatens the person with anything if they don't 'believe'.
How many times has anyone ever said to you to do anything 'in the name of atheism'?

Most of the Questions and Answers I have read in here have more than reinforced my Atheist beliefs. Not only that, I have seriously started to question the sanity of most believers. It is inconceivable the kinds of things some believe in, much less worship.

People just come on here to rant and rave and voice their opinions. I doubt very seriously that anyone really reads any answers that are not what they were looking for to confirm their own beliefs. But I would be interested in seeing if that were the case. Good question.
* Edit *
I just saw some of the posts that said people were converted to aethiests from christianity. Wow, how sad. And isn't that what the aethiests complain about Christians doing - trying to convert people? Shame on you.

I've heard of several people who came here as Christians and became atheists. I haven't heard of anyone who came here as an atheist and became a Christian.
Edit: Let me add that in the cases I've heard, it was just several months of reading posts here that caused those Christians to become atheists; I've never heard of someone going out of their way to deliberately make someone lose their faith. "Conversion", either to faith or lack of faith, bothers me too; but we can't help it if someone just reads our posts and is convinced by what we say.

I've seen it posted at other times where a atheist became a believer.
Myself I have more faith than when I started.

sure, I savor speaking with human beings of alternative perception structures. fantastically whilst there is not any rigidity to transform, insults, or human beings getting indignant. whilst human beings can communicate in a manner that may not hindered by damaging emotions, this is fresh to make certain existence from a diverse point of view from time to time. and that i savor studying new issues.

I finally admitted to being an atheist...
I'm Pagan, and I already believed the gods to be archetypal. But being on here made me willing to accept the label of atheist as well.

Mel - No one said they converted from christianity because of someone.....it could have been personal choice? Rather than having religion shoved down your throat at every given opportunity.
